It's hard to describe how amazing this part of the world is. I've traveled across four continents now, and I've yet to find landscapes that compare to the bays and inlets of the Great Bear Rainforest. But what really made this trip was the experience provided by Maples Leaf Adventures. We traveled through the area aboard their original boat, the... More

When it comes to wild and mysterious places i am first in... my femme is more rational and logically investigates further before committing. This is the place where the annual rainfall is measured in meters not millimetres. The waterproofs, sou'wester so, boots and 'puffer suits' provided are excellent. The food and accommodation is great. Don't book it...because I don't want to find you've pinched my... More

We went on an amazing trip to the Great Bear Rainforest in October 2013; after flying in to Bella Bella we joined Island Roamer (21-metre sailing Ketch), organized and crewed by Blue water Adventures. We cruised (sometimes under sail, if the weather permitted or with power) up the inlets to explore the rain forest and hopefully see wildlife, whales, bears,... More

I spent the most incredible 3 days at the Great Bear Lodge 30 mins sea plane flight away from Port Hardy, Vancouver Island in mid October. I had gone hoping to see bears, but prepared not to. After all they are wild animals. I can't 'make' them come out of the forest. But my thoughts were (after seeing the photos... More
