This has to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the Canadian Rockies. We flew in to this park via helicopter as par of the Philip Norman Photography tour instead to trekking in for 8 hours. This park is so so beautiful with numerous hills and mountains. Mount Assiniboine is the main highlight with other popular mountains like Sunburst... More

Would rate Berg Lake trail much higher...it just has more scenic beauty and lot more features in my opinion. We hiked in from Sunshine and took the chopper out to Mt. Shark....we're planning to hike out, but weather changes prevented that...🤐 Amazing views going in via Sunshine...if at all possible, avoid going down to Porcupine....it is a long way down... More

Start by Parking at sunshine village ski resort, take the gondola to sunshine village for a small gondola fee. With backpack in hand ready for the 4 day trek leave the village and trek through the flowery alpine meadows, down to porcupine camp ground about 16 km. The second day make the hike to mount assiniboine where there are three... More

This year the Naiset Huts were open between Christmas and New Year's (I don't think they usually are, usually they open in February for the winter season) so we decided to head out for a cross-country ski week. As always it was a fabulous time! We ski in and out (25 kms from Mount Shark to the huts), which makes... More

Just visited Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park for four days. The whole park could only be accessed either through hiking or helicopter as there is no road access. The trails are amazing and the scenery is breathtaking. I would rate it as the best in the Rockies and trust me, I visited and hiked throughout the Canadian Rockies. We flew in... More

The park has the best-maintained hiking trails I have seen, and the campsites in the park are sited with spectacular views of the mountains. The hike in was absolutely worth the stay on the other end. If you do make the trip, spend more than one night at the sites right at Mount Assiniboine. The Lodge offers camper tea for... More
