Is it one of the best hikes? Not in my opinion, though I accept I am clearly in the minority on reading most reports below. But time is very valuable when you are on holiday, and I would suggest it could be much better spent...More

Recent cold weather and early season snow made some of our party feel this hike was not worth the effort. But, we had been here before and knew better. The day was fresh, but we soon warmed up as we gained elevation. We passed some...More

Wilcox Pass is a real gem. Since you start off a relatively high altitude, it doesn't take long for you to get above the treeline and get into the sub-alpine zone. 45 minutes or so will get you to the pair of red Muskoka chairs...More

We'd been advised to consider this hike instead of Parker Ridge as it would be a lot less busy and the views would be at least as good. When we drove past, the Parker Ridge trailhead car-park was pretty full, so we heeded the advice...More

A chance to get away from the high season crowds to enjoy some dramatic scenery. Deserves its reputation as one of the best hikes in the Rockies.

We set out for this hike (mid June) with lovely sunshine but it wasn't long before the wind blew up and whistled over the pass. I think we suffered a little bit of exposure. Luckily we had tea and coffee with us so that got...More

We were travelling from Calgary to Hinton along the Parkway in one day so didn't have too much time for getting out and exploring. This hike was recommended as quick with big rewards and it did not disappoint. The first part of the trail is...More

We really enjoyed this hike due to the different scenery we passed through. The bighorn sheep were on the trail toward the top and we had to stand there and wait for them to move through, which was exciting. Some sections of the trail were...More
