It’s fun to drive under all the skywalks. Plus you can walk them if you want to avoid the cold. Not something you would set out to see. But if you have the chance to walk in one go for it.

This network offered us a way of moving around out of the rain on one occasion and the heat on another. Suspect it would useful to keep out of the cold in the winter too.

There are many reasons why I, and many Calgarians, have not been visiting downtown like we used to. Expensive parking, a feeling of being less safe, COVID, etc. etc. In the last few weeks, however, I've been twice downtown, once in the evening to experience the fab winter festival, and once during the day to do errands - both times I used the +15 system. In the evening, during the winter festival, I used the section in the Arts Commons complex, Calgary's theatre hub, to visit their wonderful window gallery space. Later, during the day, I used it save time to get from one place to another. The COVID mask mandate had just been lifted, but fortunately half the people I saw in the system were still wearing theirs as was I. Many of us are waiting to see whether this recent loosening of restrictions will result in another increase in hospitalizations and death, or is a true sign of improvement.

I was downtown on some errands during the work week, and was using the free downtown C-train as well as the +15 Skywalks to get around zippy quick. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many bridges were open, and how many of the cafes and shops were actually operating. There were a few sections I saw where there wasn't much open, however. Almost everybody was well-behaved, wearing masks, as I was. The hugest surprise was that the link from the westbound LRT station at Centre Street (I think they call it the First Street Station) into the newly finished TELUS Sky building. That building has been under construction for the last few years, and causing real traffic issues all that time, for cars and pedestrians, being on Centre Street. It's a lovely space inside, and it connects beautifully with the +15 system linking The Bow (Skyscraper) with the Suncor complex.

I was exploring downtown a few days ago and wanted to see if the extensive +15 elevated pedestrian bridges were open. It was hit and miss. The bridges near City Hall seemed to be closed, but those near the CORE shopping area seemed to be open, but I was there during the week. Even before the COVID troubles, many of the bridges were being closed on weekends, so I would guess almost all of them would be closed Saturdays and Sundays. It's a shame, since as a system, it is a world-class innovation. But Calgary's downtown has been ailing for quite some time, long before the COVID situation, and the +15's have not been what they used to be for a long while... sad...

Used the facility during a 3 week stay in calgary. Very convenient in winter time as you dont have to go out in the streets. There are maps to guide you and can download the app as well. Some stretch the heater do not work so just walk quickly.

Smaller I mean shorter than the Hype but especially now INSIDE a short tour of downtown but shopping is very good.
In the summer just do it outside and keep going, Did you know that Arden"s restaurant is JANN ARDEN"S. Great comfort food.

I use the Plus 15 every day to get to work and during the day to get around downtown no matter what the weather. It is full of people every day of the week , walking to get somewhere to eat, shop, do business or just get some safe warm exercise.
