I highly recommend the Chateau Gold concierge floor especially the junior suite room 723. The service was 5 star with extraordinary help by Sarah Teebay before and during my visit. It is a perfect place for anyone who loves the outdoors.

We enjoyed this hotel greatly. Get a room facing the lake and also, we learned later, do the upgrade in Fairmont Hotels to the Gold Floor! Very friendly staff, clean rooms, food good, although be prepared, it's expensive! Want to go back and stay longer....More

Its a Fairmont with all that goes with the brand. Located at the banks of Lake Louise it is a beautiful destination but bring your wallet. Having your breakfast out on the terrace overlooking the lake is wonderful. Beware though, many tour companies use this...More

It is the big fort like structure beautiful in all respects on bank of Lake Louis. Grand interiors, vast spread, shopping arcade, and amazing restaurants make it complete.

Impressive interior and really nice cafe/bar overlooking Lake Louise BUT we were not allowed in as it was apparently being reserved for guests at that time Having said that the deli is very good and sensibly priced Slightly felt like a second class citizen but...More

This is our fourth stop here and it never gets old. The lake was still partially frozen on this stop which probably didn't lead to the best pictures but you will find very few places like this. If you have the time walk at least...More

This was our 3rd Fairmont Hotel on our trip through western Canada and we were not disappointed. The Chateau is an incredible building set at the base of the lake with amazing views. Comfortable spacious rooms and a welcoming atmosphere but inevitably popular and very...More

We had a wonderful three nights at the hotel in late May 2017. The rooms were spacious. We enjoyed the restaurants and shopping on the property. We were able to use the free shuttles to get to town and other hiking spots. The Rocky Mountaineer...More

If you have little experience with driving on snow and ice rent an all wheel drive SUV and even with all season tires (they include a mud and snow rating) you will be fine if you just follow the big trucks and/or drive at... More

I'm staying at the Chateau after travelling on the Rocky Mountaineer, 1 night only. It appears we get in around 7-8pm so wont be able to do much that night - sightseeing wise - but the next day I'm booked in Banff so have most of the day to explore Lake Louise area. (Hoping the hotel will keep my luggage til I'm ready to go.) what are the must sees, can I wander around alone or should I book some kind of tour. some one mentioned mirror lake - is it a relatively easy hike. i'm a little fit but wont have hiking boots, only walking shoes so dont want to mountain climb. this is towards the end of September. oh, and any suggestions how I get from LL to Banff. TIA all.

Sounds like this would be a good time for you to quit since many places are now non-smoking.
