Took the enclosed gondola ride but did not enjoy the vibration inside the gondola. I took the open gondola on the way back, much more enjoyable Two brown bears seen, one on the right going up and the next in the left. On reflection, it looked a bit staged as though the bears are put there to keep people riding... More

We took the chairlift rather late in the day and knew that our time was limited but the chance of seeing bears made this a must. We were fortunate to see two Grizzlies on the way up and they were both still under the lift on the way down. Unfortunately we had not brought our insect repellent and the mosquitos... More

This was far better than the Banff Gondola. There are amazing views of Lake Louise. I think we were the only family that didn't see any bears. There are open seats as well as enclosed gondolas to take up. Most people opted for the open lift. Lots of places to take amazing pictures. Food: one restaurant at the top. Several... More

What do you do when Lake Louise is jam packed with people and you want to get away from the crowds? Head to the Gondola in the Lake Louise ski area. You can choose to ride in the enclosed gondola or the open air chair (we went up in the gondola and down in the chair) on a 12 minute... More

Good views from top of Gondola. Wildlife did not cooperate, but to be expected, as we had already seen so much on other days.

We were hoping to see bears and this was highly recommended to us. While the views were lovely, the drinks tasty, and the museum informative, there were no bears. None. The staff said THE BEAR (singular) they have been seeing lately had moved east and was coming by usually once a day or so. Again, decent unbearable experience, but maybe... More

I think the gondola should be taken after visiting Lake Louise. It was great to look over to where I had been. This is a great area to see grizzlies-saw a half grown grizzly rolling and playing on one of the ski slopes. There is a very good small wildlife center at the top of the lift-the staff there was... We didn't think this attraction was too badly priced at all. We enjoyed every minute. We watched the lovely marmots running around for ages on the lawns down below. They look lovely when they stand up on the alert - just like meerkats. We chose to take a gondola as opposed to a chair lift because we thought taking pictures... More

This was one of the biggest highlights of our trip. Saw 3 grizzly bears!! It was snowing on July 4 so bring layers. Had a great lunch at the top of the mountain. Pricey but worth every penny!
