If you visit the lake in the busy part of the day you'll spend all day trying to park. We waited until 5pm and what a difference, so beautiful and lovely walks.

Arrive very early during high season or you may be turned away. The road in was closed when I headed out at 11:20 AM. I am so glad I got here by 8:15. Take the Rockpile trail first. That gets very crowded. The vistas are nothing short of spectacular. You won't be sorry you set your alarm early. I started... More

I agree with many that this is the #1 attraction in Canadian Rockies. We stayed in Lake Louie Village. There was shuttle to go there, but because we did not want to be late to our white water rafting in the afternoon and were not sure about the schedule of shuttle, we decided to drive there early in the morning... This is one of several destinations for great photo ops. The splendour background of the turquoise lake provides an eclectic inspiration for getting that perfect shot of Banff's Rocky Mountains.

Cold but wonderful early morning walk along Moraine's shoreline to a shallow cascade of rushing waters was a great way to start our Rockies vacation. Many photo op spots and a great lodge. Start early as road to Moraine closes around 10am. Canoeing and a handful of hiking trails for serious trekkers are offered.

Moraine Lake is so spectacular. This was my favorite lake in Banff. Loved the trail along the shore. Simply beautiful.

Note: The main road is closed for 3 weeks out of the year, and you can only access the lake by walking or biking. Was there at the end of May, so make sure you check prior to planning this part out. We were there during the time where the road was closed off, and you had to choose to... More

We got there early and rented 2 canoes for a wonderful view and perspective on the lake. The color was stunning. The cafe was not great so would be good to bring snacks. Get there before 10am or parking lot may be full and road temporarily closed.

I made a point to come to Lake Moraine after hearing how the beauty is as awe inspiring as that of Lake Louise, if not more. Well if that were possible, I think I'd be in shear heaven as I can't imagine any greater beauty. As you arrive, you see that the adjacent mountain range is very jagged and really... More

We went their on a nice sunny day. Sadly couldn't get there in the night there was northern lights that night which made for very nice photos. Look up photos of the lake with northern lights to see how amazing it can look. Visiting in the day is also very nice. I would highly recommend anybody coming by lake Louis... More
