You get used to seeing mind bending lakes set amongst gorgeous mountains in Banff, but this is one for the ages with a lot less foot traffic. The blue of the lake is unreal and perfect for photos that'll make everyone at home want to go "wherever this is." Like any attraction that has less people it takes a little... More

After a week of taking 500 You-Can't -Go-Wrong photos of the Canadian Rockies, Peyto Lake is where I took the best shot. A true "National Geographic" quality photo, showing the panoramic view afforded by the viewing platform above the lake. Named for Bill Peyto, immigrant from near Banff, Scotland, railroad hand, guide, WWI veteran, early warden of Banff National Park.

Lake Peyto is one of the most stunning places I have ever been! My husband and I spent a full day driving the Icefields Pkwy from Banff to Jasper and Lake Peyto was one of our first stops. Truly a gorgeous place and not to be missed!

This is one of my favorite lakes in Banff and Jasper area. Scenery is so pretty that you could just spend hours just looking at it.

Peyto Lake is best viewed on a sunny day (much like the rest of the mountains). The colour of the water changes over the summer months and is dependent on how quickly the glacier is melting. This spot is a popular place and the crowds can be heavy. My recommendation is to be there early in the day. It is... More

Peyto Lake, Wow Scenery and view, Wow What a stunning place, a must see on your agenda. The walk there has a few steep inclines, take your time, stop as many times as you need. Need to be moderately fit.

Very close to Lake Louise, my breath was taken away by the beauty of the lake surrounded with mountains! Can live there forever! I would love to go there again to do canoeing, since it was winter time, we couldn't do any canoeing, but there are renting units!

Located near Lake Louise and just as spectacular. Water is the beautiful milky blue with gorgeous mountains surrounding. Great place to stop with ample parking. Canoes for hire also.

We looked down on Peyto Lake from a panoramic platform a foggy morning in july. It was a very special experience, no other people around, just silence and beauty!

love this lake so much and I decide this will be my wedding place In spring, with snow around the top of the mountain, and blue lake below. Nothing better than that.
