Awesome way to see the Bow Valley, great to be separated from traffic. A great ride for visitors or to train. Go early and avoid the crowds.

An excellent place to enjoy an easy bike ride, or go for a run on pavement. Great condition of the trail (Summer), and close enough to the highway so you don't feel like you need to carry bear spray!

We did the legacy trail then on to Hwy 1a to Lake Louise it was great maybe for at least an intermediate cyclist on the Hwy. The legacy trail is a safe easy ride for any one wanting to experience the beautiful scenery

We walked from Canmore to Banff on the Legacy Trail, and it took 5 hours. There is a place to take a break and eat lunch around the halfway point. Since it is mostly along the highway all the way, it is better suited for bike riding than for walking. There are much more scenic walking trails around the valley,... More

This trail is a great addition to the parks. You can bike from Canmore to Banff and back (or vice versa) in an easy afternoon. It is a bit noisy because it follows the highway, and on warm days it can be very crowded, but it's still a great improvement over the former option of cycling on the shoulder of... More

Lets ride our bikes to Banff, she said It will be fun, she said Its a wonderful scenic tour, spoiled by pedalling my big butt into a headwind all the way there. The trail runs parallel to the transcanada highway and the rail line, the highway is busy and noisy, no trains while we were on the trail. We started... More

Great views but it's noisy, busy and at times a bit sketchy all being beside an insanely busy highway and the main line for trains.

We drive to Canmore to ride this trail throughout the summer. Our favourite is to take a bike cab/bus to the Ha Ling/chinamans peak parking lot and mountain bike down to Banff then Legacy trail back to canmore.

It was an awesome view that you can see rockies mountain along the trail. This year there is "Bear Warning" sign. I rode my bicycle from Canmore to Banff and Banff to Canmore. On the way from Canmore to Banff was a bit up but on the way from Banff to Canmore was so easy. Enjoy biking. :-)
