no need to fear anything,

It was very informing, 360 degree view of mountains and valleys. Great walk at the top. Good prices after 6pm.

Going in July in the height of the summer season, we waited about 15 mins to buy our tickets, then we were allocated a time (45 mins later) to queue to go on the gondola, which took another half hour- so overall it took nearly 2 hours to go to the top of the mountain, we wished we had walked... MUST DO in Banff. Close to all of the hotels. Great ride up, insane views and once you get to the top the is so much to see and do. Learn about the area and all of the surrounding mountains. Learn about who lived at the top of the mountain and why. Enjoy being in the clouds and seeing the... More

We visited the Gondola on the last day of our very rainy stay in Banff, and were so glad we did! The views (when not socked in by clouds) are well worth the price of admission. The Gondola experience has a multi-level boardwalk extending some distance to an old observatory that was used to collect weather data and cosmic rays... More

The gondolas prices were a bit steep if your going in a large group like we did. The view from the top is really breathtaking though, most views in Banff are!! The gondola takes you up and then there's a few flights of stairs to reach the summit of Sanson's Peak. Sanson was the first meteorologist in the area and... More

I am scared of heights, but this was wonderful, yes it is high, but you have so much to see you forget how high it is. Once at the top,the boardwalk is a nice way to see the whole of the valley and town. Would recommend it to the young and old and everyone In between.

The Banff Gondola ride is expensive but well worth it if you can't hike up the mountain. The views from the top and on the way up are spectacular. There is a long wooden walkway at the top with amazing views in every direction. I'd recommend hiking up- there is a well marked trail which takes you right up to... More

Wife and I where rely looking forward to this. When we got there, it was crazy busy, and we waited 1.5 hours to get on the gondola. It was well worth the wait for such a spectacular view. Tip: go first thing in the morning or after 4 o'clock.

The only reason I would turn away from the Banff Gondola is the cost. If that is not an issue, then it is definitely a nice thing to do on your visit to Banff. Certainly best to go on a sunny day so that the mountains are visible and you can get some beautiful views at the top. The staff... More

I was staying at the Rimrock Resort hotel. So as this attraction was within asking distance I did not book ahead. There was a huge queue. They split the ride up in to 10 minute slots - however you may be eating 20 minutes in a line from the time of the allotted time. So be warned and be patient.... More
