It was very interesting how the heavy sulphur water came from deep down and the salt content was making everything white and hard. These springs are very protected and contain some of the rarest bugs and snails in the world. You need to visit here but bring nose plugs.

My boyfriend and I decided to be adventurous and hike up Sulphur Mountain. Right before the trail to start going up, there was a sign that said that if you hike up the mountain, you get a free ride down on the gondola. This sign before the trail also said that the last gondola ride would be an hour before... More

We visited Sulphur Mountain the day before it was closing down. It was a beautiful fall day so we decided to hike up. WOW! That was a very difficult hike. Easy terrain but the switchbacks up the mountain were just that....up...up....with no level breaks at all. Anyone thinking of attempting the hike should be extremely fit. My husband and I... More

Always had great fear of heights but as my wife, sister and brother in law were taking the gondola up the mountain (almost 8,000 feet),I picked up the courage and joined them. What a brilliant experience! The ride takes about 8 minutes and the feeling of gliding up at above tree top level and looking out over the town of Banff and... More

Fun! Not so beautiful as you follow the trail. Kinda noisy but much better than sitting. We hiked up and was able to catch the gondola down for free. The views of Banff from the Summit are lovely.

The view from the top of the mountain is really pretty from all directions, you look over Mount Rundle, Cascade mountain, Banff village (including the Fairmont), and the seemingly endless mountain peaks in the opposite direction. The hike from the base isn't particularly difficult and takes about 1.5 hours in the summertime when there is no snow.

The view here is so amazing, I went up twice. The first time I hiked up. This took around 2.5hrs, and then got the gondola down. There are many amazing views in the Rockies and this is definitely one worth seeing.

Great views when you get to the top. We hiked up instead of taking the tram and got a free ride down. There was supposed to be one-way tickets for sale but the tram office is very renovated. The hike was one of the most boring hikes we've ever gone on though. I've been wondering why - I think it's... More
