We took the gondola to the top last September, 2016. The views to the top are breathtaking. Take your time as you follow the walkway and don't forget to bring a bottle of water with you.

This is a must go place for people visiting Banff, it offers absolutely stunning 360 views of the valley and mountain ranges. Now they have a restaurant up there.

The three of us made the trek to the peak of Sulphur Mountain this morning. Took me one hour and thirty-five minutes to do it. The weather was beautiful until close to the top when it became windy with a bit of snow. Will make this journey again someday.

Truly unbelievable views. Pictures don't do it justice, just go up. But wear good hiking shoes it can be ver slippery on the boardwalk.

During winter, the gondola ride going down is free! A good way to spend a couple hours is to hike up the mountain, then enjoy the well-earned free ride back. Right next to the Banff Hotsprings parking lot, there is a trail going up and up, which eventually leads to the top of Sulphur Mountain. You pass under the gondola... More

Take the short gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain and you will find a 4-story building (3 inside floors plus a rooftop viewing area) which is worth a visit. The views from there are absolutely spectacular on a clear day. Our group of ~150 people had food and drink stations with plenty of seating on the 3rd floor.... More

I had many experiences with Sulphur Mountain gondola as I worked at Banff Springs Hotel yet the best experience was when a co worker and myself climbed Sulphur Mountain in early May which took us 7 hours .

The $49.00 cost per person for the gondola ride was worth it. The view from the top and the walk once there was terrific.

We saw a few hikers, but the 4 seat gondola ride is easy and popular. There are new observation platforms, interpretive exhibits and other facilities at the top. A spectacular view from 7000 feet might as well be from the top of the world. The Town of Banff is tiny blot below, surrounded by countless majestic mountain ranges.
