Took beautiful drive from Lake Louise to Jasper in late July. I have to say that it is stunning. Beautiful mountain vistas, glaciers and wildlife at every turn. Be sure to stop often along the way to enjoy the scenic turnouts and of course the visitors center.

The most beautiful drive I've ever seen! We didn't see Grizzlies, but had to stop in the middle of the road for a pack of elk horn sheep to cross. A lot of beautiful emerald green lakes and rivers along the way. We drove to the Columbia Icefield and took a hike up to the Athabasca Glacier and even walked... More

We left Banff for Jasper National Park (about 180 miles north) on Highway 93. We knew that this was going to be a beautiful ride from everything we had heard from others. But there's beautiful and there's BEAUTIFUL! This has to be one of the most magnificent, majestic drives in North America. The mountains, the glaciers, the valleys, the rivers,... More

Drove from Canmore to the visitors centre, and back to Calgary in one day. Next time, would plan the glacier walk and the skywalk on one day, overnight in Jasper, and spend more time at the viewpoints, including some short hikes. Amazing scenery.

One of the things that you must go on while in Alberta is the Glacier Adventure. I think the cheaper option is just to drive to the bottom of the parkway itself but if you join the Glacier Adventures, they've got a bus that brings you into the icefield itself. I thought I've seen snow before coming from Vancouver where... More

Drove from Calgary to Athabasca Glacier...stunning lakes and glaciers throughout the trip with plenty of places to stop for photo shoots!! Athabasca glacier tour was breath-taking, just riding in those monster vehicles was amazing enough!!

Amazing experience. Highly recommend. Be prepared to pay to enter either Jasper or Banff National park on your way in, depending on which direction you are coming from. We drove up from Banff and it took us most of the day as we stopped to enjoy the views and take a walk on the glacier.

Icefield Parkway, in early July. Start of the tourist season, and one of the most peaceful and beautiful drives you could imagine. This visit, we went the full length of the parkway from South to North, and then back South again. Staying a couple of nights at Sunwapta Falls gave us the perfect opportunity to investigate all the beauty of... More
