Gaze out at the spectacular views of the eastern side of the Solent on our amazing open top bus. The Downs Breezer runs from 23rd May to 31st August 2015 and provides a glimpse of the delights of the Island from the scenic coastline on our open-top buses. It’s a circular route through the heart of the Isle of Wight’s pretty countryside with breathtaking views stretching over the expanse of the English Channel across to mainland. Starting in Ryde, the route runs every 30 minutes, in an anti-clockwise direction, through Sandown and Brading , across the tops of The Downs, through the charming villages of Newchurch and The Garlic Farm, Arreton, Wootton and Fishbourne. The route has been adapted this summer to allow visitors to explore even more of what the Isle of Wight has to offer. New attraction stops include the Brading Roman Villa, Yaverland beach, Dinosaur Isle and the Isle of Wight Zoo. “In addition to stopping at these fantastic Isle of Wight attractions, we've routed the Downs Breezer to include the resort of Sandown and the holiday parks at Yaverland,” said Southern Vectis General Manager, Matt Kitchin. “And we're continuing to make stops near other much loved destinations - like Quarr Abbey, Arreton Old Village, Robin Hill and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway." Running daily between 23rd May and 31st August, [except 11th - 15th June] the Downs Breezer departs Ryde bus station every 30 minutes from 9.55am - with the final departure at 5.25pm. Tickets last 24 hours, giving visitors a chance to really make the most of the service. Full price Breezer tickets can also be used on other Southern Vectis routes, maximising every opportunity to explore the Island in depth. The bus for The Garlic Farm drops you at 3X en route to or from Newchurch. There is then a 10 minute walk up a narrow country lane or you can take the slightly shorter route across the fields, clearly posted.
