There is an entrance fee to use the Wancheonha Skywalk. From the parking lot, you can choose to walk, take a free shuttle bus, or take the paid monorail to the top of the mountain where the skywalk is located. From the top, you'll have to walk a short, not very steep climb to reach the top of the skywalk. It's not difficult to get there if you're enjoying the scenery, but you might get a little dizzy and your legs might get a little sore from the slight climb. However, when you reach the top, you will be greeted with a beautiful view of the river and Danyang, which makes the climb worth it. The view made me feel like my stomach was opening up and I loved it. The glass skywalk observation deck makes you feel like you're walking in the sky. However, it can be a bit scary for those who are afraid of heights as the glass is high up. In addition to the skywalk, there are other activities such as zip wire and alpine coaster which can be used for additional fee. If you're traveling to Danyang, I recommend visiting the Mancheonha Skywalk at least once.

The views from the top, and the benefit of exercise walking up the ramp. Near sunset maybe a good time

My family and I spent about 1 exhilarating hour on a Friday afternoon up at this skywalk gem that was opened in 2017 and that was selected as one of the “2019-2020 100 must visit tourist spots of Korea”.

Getting there and entrance fee: My family and I joined a one-day “Danyang 8 Scenic Wonders, Dodamsambong Peak and Chungju Lake Cruise” tour organised by One Day Korea of which one of the additional stops was the Mancheonha Skywalk (만천하 스카이워크). If you would want to come on your own, the rarely available information recommend to either take a taxi or intra-city bus to Jeokseong-myeon (Aegok)) from the Danyang Intercity Bus Terminal (very near to the Danuri Aquarium). After parking our car, we bought admission tickets (₩3,000 for adults aged 19 to 65, ₩2,500 for children aged 6 to 18 and for seniors aged 65 and above), following which we boarded a bus that took us up to the base of the observatory. I saw people walking up but I would not advise it because the road to the observatory is at least 2 kilometres.

The Skywalk Observatory: Upon alighting from the bus, we lifted our heads and gasped at the uniquely horse hoof or slanted egg-shaped Mancheonha Skywalk. It is a 30-metre high observatory that stands over the cliffs that line the Namhan River (Namhangang) and some 80 to 90 metres above the Namhan River.
After walking long winding wooden walkway, we then transferred to the gentle sloped spiral walkway of the Mancheonha Skywalk to reach the top of the observatory. At the top of the observatory, you have the breath-taking panoramic view of Sangjin-ri (part of Danyang-eup), the u-shaped meandering Namhan River, three bridges (including a beautiful wave-patterned one) that carry Dangyang-ro, mountains of Woraksan National Park and Soebaeksan National Park (including the 1383-metre Yeonhwabong Peak and 1439-metre Birobong Peak (highest peak)). As the peak autumn foliage was just starting in early November in Danyang, we saw certain parts of the mountains covered with golden yellow forest.

But the views are not the only thing that took our breath away! There are 3 platforms measuring 2 metres wide and where the floor is high strength glass with the centre platform being the longest at 15 metres (shape of 3 fingers from a birds-eye-view). While Lotte World Sky Tower holds the world record of the highest glass-floor observation deck, the open air glass floor deck at Mancheonha Skywalk is certainly much longer and much more thrilling because you are walking over the cliff and with the wind blowing at you on a windy day.

After you descend directly through the stairs (no need for the winding walkway) to the base of the Mancheonha Skywalk, you could either board a bus back down (which we did), or take the Zipwire (Straw-wire) down (only 2 lines). At more than 50 km/h, the first part takes you from base of Mancheonha Skywalk to the transfer centre (680 metres) and then from transfer centre to the parking lot (300m). There is no distinction between adults and children – ticket price is ₩30,000. You could also take the Alpine Coaster costing ₩15,000 and you have to find out where it is located. I believe the Zipwire and Alpine Coaster will be closed during winter.

What I enjoyed:
(1) The breath-taking views from atop of the observation deck at about 120 metres, which made me appreciate the beauty of South Korea even more.
(2) The exhilarating experience of walking the see-through glass floor platform. Coupled with the open air and the gentle wind, it just like we were walking or even floating in the sky!
(3) There is no time limit as to how long we could stay here
(4) There was no tourist crowd on a weekday, not even in the afternoon.

Do check the weather before you go as you don’t want the rain or fog or mist ruin your trip to this Mancheonha Skywalk that will surely take your breath away at the top...just like it did with my family and me!

There are some interesting activities here like Alpine coaster, zipline and skywalk. It's so fun to do that with friends or family. At the top of the skywalk tower we can get the whole view of mountains and lakes here. It's so nice and the feeling when we are on top was so great.
We experienced alpine coaster at the foot of the mountain and later take the shutter bus to go up to the skywalk tower then walk to the top of the tower.
I think in the autumn the scenery will be more beautiful with foliage.

The Mancheonha Skywalk was just opened in July 2017 and really offers some absolutely stunning views of the river flowing nearby 🌁
After parking and buying a ticket (W2,000 for adults), visitors board a bus 🚌 that takes them up to where the Skywalk is on a 90 meter high hill 🏔
Walk up and around the gently sloping walk up and come to the observatory adding a further 40 meters at the top. Walk out onto one of three, or all three, glass bottomed walkways to take in the sheer beauty on all sides

Extremely difficult to get to via public transport. Had to take a cab to reach. Didn't try the zipline as it had a insane waiting time of 2 hours. For those interested in the alpine coaster or zipline, fill up the agreement form before heading over to the counter for payment. I got chewed out by the staff when I tried to pay at the counter not knowing about the forms.

Great views. Well worth the trip up. Keep hold of little toddlers as the gaps beneath some of the barriers and between uprights are a little too wide in places. Our 2 year old could definitely have rolled under or squeezed through. Great views from the top. Kids enjoyed watching the monorail alpine rollercoaster and zip line but were too little to take part (2&5). Minimum weight restrictions apply (possibly age too).
Other reviews state there is a shuttle bus up. There is from the car park on the other side of the river from Danyang but not from Danyang itself. You need to take a taxi or the cliff walk. The shuttle is included from the first car park up the steep hill where there is no pavement. Shuttle can drop off at the water gardens to walk back to town too or back down at the base. We called a taxi from the booking office at the bottom to return to Danyang.

This is a like it of town. I've been told you can walk there from Danyang. The cost was minimal and the views we worth it. You can see the whole valley. You but a ticket and there is a shuttle bus to the base. You do have to walk up. If you go towards evening, the status would be great. There is a zip line and a car coaster also for an extra charge. At the base is a walking area that will also go back to town. On the way in if you're driving, you'll drive through an old train tunnel that a nice light display.

Not only do you get the best view of Danyang and the surroundings but you get to see people on a zip line and also on a monorail which you can do yourself if you want. The entrance fee is cheap and you get a free bus ride to and from the site. Then a leisurely walk up to the top via a spiraling platform.

Exciting experience. I was little worried about the riding at the beginning but once I came down, I wanted to do it again. You need to to the ticket office first. with your ticket You can get on the shuttle. Try to check your weight well before you buy ticket.
