In addition to being a very interesting historical site there is a wonderful view of the river and all the palm trees planted by the padres so long ago. Climb up to the viewing site in addition to viewing the structure.

There is so much history in this old historic building. AND, they still have church services there. Also, culteral events, (one time a flutest and opera singer played there). There is a great viewpoint just to the left, facing the mission, up high. There is a memorial too. Great view of the town, and the river, with many palms. It... More

The Mission is very old and full of history. Locals have a deep regard for their Mission and the connection it has with the community around it. When the bells chime, they can be heard up and down the river basin. Well worth the stop in a living museum to the past going forward to the future.

I love Missions and cemeteries. This place is beautiful. You can feel the history and respect for the Mission. The view of Mulege is the best view. Have your camera ready.

Beautiful little mission and surrounding town. Love the views of palms lining the river outside of town.

What a beautiful place. I wish there was someone to guide you through your visit. It's completely isolated and if you don't know your way around, you could get lost. It's also important to mention that there is no one there to tell you about the history and importance of this church, which is quite interesting.

The mission is on a hill, overlooking the town. Yes, mass is still held there. There is a viewpoint up the hill to the left of the mission, that gives a great view of the town, the river and lots of palm trees. The mission is still in very good repair for how old it is. I don't remember exactly,... More

This is one of the old missions. It is built out of stone, and overlooking the River Mulege. Definitly take the time to climb to the top of the overlook, great views of the river and palm trees. This is one of those treats that makes you realize how authentic the town of Mulege really is. There is a reverence... More

A short walk from town, this quiet mission on the hill is interesting, as it sits on the Mulege river overlooking the town of the same name. A lazy turtle swam below us as we stood on the overlook. The chapel itself seems like a humble room with simple wooden carved doors and rough-hewn beams. Picturesque, with a sense of... More
