Sadly we were totally underwhelmed by the gardens-they were pretty but fairly plain compared to other gardens we've been to (in our opinion that is). We didnt find the gardens anything special sadly. As for the castle we didnt go in as photos arent permitted...More

We decided to just have a tour of the castle. It was very informative and obviously a family home. The history was very interesting and we would highly recommend a tour. We didn't go round the garden as in early June most of the plants...More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Caerhays. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your castle tour. The guides are very informative. The gardens are at their best in March, April and May but the views are magnificent...More

If you can visit in late April or early May then the Rhododendrons and Magnolias would be spectacular! Slightly past their prime by end of May but still stunning gardens and walks.

Renowned for the Magnolias and Camellias, these gardens are at their best earlier in the spring, but they're still worth a visit in May as the later flowering rhododendrons are spectacular. There are several different walks through the estate of varying distances and gradients and...More

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to the gardens. The gardens are extensive especially if you visit Old Park as well and yes you could easily spend a couple of days exploring.

It's Spring and these are certainly Spring gardens. Azaleas, Rhododendron some going back 150 years are all on show. There are easy walks and some a bit harder. It was three hours of colourful bliss. After the walk a very good cafe serves lunches everything...More

Beware of the car park attendant. She is quite nasty and has two border collies, one of which attacked our dog whilst walking on the beach. She tried to claim that our dog was to blame. Lovely beach and very nice gardens but try to...More

Hello Leslie, we often hear from people who worked at the castle, most have happy memories of their time here. When did your gran work and live at Caerhays?
