Family winter walk.
An absolute disgrace.
Avoid the whole place.
I got scammed by the car park - put £4 in the meter (that is all the cash I had and it did not take cards).
Went for a walk with my kids & wife.
2 weeks later £100 fine (£60 if paid immediately).
What a shame - will label it a 'Cornwall rip off'.

I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus about outstanding parking charges of £170, which caught me off guard. There is a disability sign at the beach, but if you don't use glasses, you can't notice the tiny print that says "must pay" underneath it. Debt Recovery Plus and they informed me of the tiny print message. I suggest deleting the disabled sign. What is its purpose?

I’ve just been sent a fine for £170.00 for car park when we had paid the parking machine. Read all the other similar reviews I’m far from alone in being stitched up by the parking company. Steer we’ll clear of Lamorna Cove.

As others have said, avoid like the plague - this is just a money making scam. Overstayed our parking duration by a few minutes, no way to pay for additional time and very little signage so have had to pay a £60 fine; appealed but was rejected. Don't accept cards or payment by App. Obviously set up with the intention of catching visitors out.

Upon our arrival at Lamorna Cove, we embarked on a delightful stroll towards Mousehole. However, upon approaching the parking payment machines, we immediately noticed a limitation – they only accepted cash, exclusively in coins, and did not facilitate card payments or accept bills.

Given this constraint, we had to settle for a 4-hour parking duration because we lacked the necessary change for the 8-hour option. Regrettably, our walk ended up taking slightly over 4 hours, resulting in the issuance of a parking fine. Despite my efforts to contest it, the appeal was ultimately rejected.

My attempt to communicate the issue via email to Cornwall Council also proved unfruitful, as they indicated that the matter pertained to private land and was beyond their purview. It's disheartening to witness such a stunning location in Cornwall marred by the actions of a few greedy individuals. My strong recommendation is to steer clear of this location at all costs. Personally, I have no intentions of returning.

We booked a 2-week stay during August 2023 at The Lookout, in Lamorna Cove and I have to express my disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at The Lookout in Lamorna Cove. I had booked the cottage with high expectations, hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a series of cleanliness and maintenance issues that significantly affected the quality of my stay.

Upon arriving at the cottage, I was taken aback by the lack of cleanliness in the living spaces. The curtains were infested with spider webs, dead spiders, and other insects, which immediately created an unwelcoming and uncomfortable atmosphere. It was evident that proper cleaning and maintenance had not been carried out in quite some time. The windows, particularly those around the radiator heaters and in the bathroom area, were also covered in spider webs, dead spiders and other insects giving the impression that the cottage had not been properly attended to before my arrival. The patio area had an infestation of spider webs, dead spiders and other insects, making it an unwelcoming area to spend time in and therefore marred the whole experience which I was looking forward to doing during my two-week stay.

Moreover, I was disappointed to find that several key amenities were not functioning as expected. The light above the shower in the bathroom was not working, making it inconvenient and potentially hazardous to use the shower in low light conditions. This lack of attention to even basic amenities contributed to a sense of neglect in the property.

One of the most concerning issues was the presence of black dog hair all over the carpets, floor and couch. As a guest, I expected a clean and hygienic environment to relax in, but the accumulation of pet hair was not only unsightly but also unhygienic. This indicated a lack of thorough cleaning and preparation before my stay.

Additionally, the fact that some windows could not be opened, including the ones in the lounge and main room, was an inconvenience. Proper ventilation is crucial in any accommodation, and the inability to open windows limited my ability to regulate the indoor air quality, which negatively impacted my comfort during my stay.

The Lamorna Cove car park rip-off continues. Cash only at the meter so like most people I couldn't pay. Received a Parking Charge Notice and appealed on a Saturday, response received on the following Monday refusing my appeal. No reference whatsoever to the points I raised in my appeal so obviously it has not actually been 'carefully considered'. This sort of scam and others like it, such as Lands End, is doing great harm to tourism in Cornwall. Time for the local elected representatives to wake up and take action.

Avoid at all costs, run down and scruffy. Please read reviews before visiting, car park an absolute rip off. Will be charged even to just turn around and head out.

Disgusting rules on parking. Didn’t even get out of the car and after less than 20 minutes got a £60 fine! Fair enough if I’d gone to Mousehole or Porthcurnow. It’s not like there’s anything much to see as the harbour has been allowed to disappear and it’s just old quarry rocks. I will never revisit and I suggest every Cornwall tourist gives this place a miss.

It was great to spend time in this beautiful cove on a stormy day. The waves were spectacularly crashing over the highest of the harbour walls. The cafe was also great - delicious cakes! The woman and guy who served us were so welcoming! Really enjoyed the tranquility of this place.

Have read the other reviews about car parking. Fortunately, (and unusually), I had coins on me for the parking.

The Lamorna Wink Pub and Restaurant, on the road down to the cove, looked lovely from the outside, but unfortunately we didn’t have time to stop in on this visit.

I would recommend Lamorna Cove and will visit again.
