Just 1.5 hour drive away from Yangon , it is interesting to pay a visit to Historical temple. Even though you have to cross the small part of river, it is quite safe. You can hire small boat with 3000K (2$) or big one with 5000k (3.5$). Normal ticket willl cost just 200k (which is 13cents only)

Worth a quick visit as part of seeing the Kyauk Tan Pagoda. Nothing materially stood out as different from this pagoda but might as well visit it while in the area.

I took the local bus (route 258) to come here from Sule Pagoda in Yangon (down town), It took aound 1 hour with another short-route small bus connecting. The temple look like a floating on the water, worth it to come here.

Take a very short boat ride to the Pagoda where in the middle of the Hmaw Wun creek. Where is famous for local pilgrims with wish fulfilling, fish feeding(massive catfish around the island).

The beautiful Kyaik Hmaw Won Yele Pagoda is not actually floating but is built in the middle of the river. The unusual location and restricted access has meant that it is not flooded with tourists but it is very popular and important to locals. The stories/legends relating to its impact make it quite intriguing. The small town of Kyauktan provides a seemingly endless row of eating places and support for the constant boats ferrying visitors to and from the Pagoda.

the pagoda is In the middle of water. Take a ride across in one of the small boats lined up on the bank. Some impressive-sized catfish leap out of the water alongside the boats, looking for food from the tourists.

This pagoda is located in the centre of a river. We took a taxi and it took over an hour to get there even though it's only 12 miles out of Yangon. Traffic is crazy in Yangon.
To be honest we probably enjoyed the ride there as much as the pagoda. We had to pay for the boat over (foreigners have to use the bigger boat, which has life jackets!) & we also had to pay to visit the pagoda. Locals don't pay of course!
There's no explanations in English, which is a shame. Myanmar just isn't developed as a tourist friendly destination. They are quick to collect money from foreigners (& I do object to having to pay to visit any religious site), but not to provide information.
We enjoyed an amble around the site, watching the locals praying & feeding bread & corn cakes to greedy fish in the river,

This buddhist place is about 45 minute to 1hour drive by taxi from Yangon , crossing the river to Thanlyn. It's bedt to negotiate price from Sule paya area about 40-45$ for return trip to this pagoda. Not well maintained road, bumpy in some part, you reach the pier for embarking on the tranferred lond-Tailed boat to the pagoda located on the island in midst of the river. On the way back to Yangon, I recommend the kyai kyauk pagoda in the city of Thanlyn. It's the small version of Shwe Dagon paya.
