Compared to the main squares in Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Queretaro and Ciudad de Mexico, this is our favorite Zocalo. Bursting with life, surrounded by arched walkways (Portales), we easily spend hours watching the world go by. Not to be missed: a bronze model...More

We were in Puebla on a Sunday and saw all the excitement and celebration the people were showing. Families crowded the area, balloons, food, music, spontaneous dancing!!! What a treat!

Of course, no one would visit Puebla without seeing the Zocalo (main square). Wander and enjoy -- eat at the surrounding streetside restaurants. This is almost a no-brainer. Don't miss it.

If you like to walk, eat, sight-see, party and people watch....this is the place. A great area of historic value, bars, hotels and restaurants abound. Heavy police presence so safety concerns are at a minimum. A definite must if you find yourself in the area.

The zocalo (central plaza) is a busy place which incorporates the cathedral and city hall. It is surrounded by restaurants and we suggest having breakfast or lunch on one of the first floor balconies overlooking the plaza to take in all activities below. Several museums...More
