Let´s talk about crafts

Top quality, hand made, not two pieces are the same, Origin Denomination, which means there´s only Talavera in Puebla. Beautiful designs. Great!

This was one of the highlights of the trip! This talavera factory and store is one of the oldest businesses in Mexico and one of a handful of authentic talavera vendors (per strict governmental requirements). Each piece is made by hand. Be sure not to miss the 11am tour of the factory where you will see all of the many... More

We have lived in Mexico for several years and held off buying any Talavera until we visited Puebla which is the home of this remarkable art form. I had done some research in advance in advance of our trip to Puebla and decided that a visit to the Uriarte Talavera operation was a must. On our visit, we were greeted... More

We spent a couple days in Puebla and this was our favorite part. Javier gave us a private tour in English and the pottery was exception. We loved learning about and growing in appreciation for this wonderful art form. We highly recommend. Javier was kind, fun, his English was great, and he's an artist himself.

Such an informative tour! Worth a stop if you love Talavera. It was fascinating to go behind the scenes to see how Uriarte Talavera is produced. Our tour guide Maria walked us through the factory and let us see all the stages of production from the clay, glazing, stenciling with charcoal, firing and painting. I would highly recommend stopping by... More

I have visited Uriarte many many times since the 1980's, having lived in Mexico during the 80's and early 90's. Every time I return to Mexico I make sure a visit to Puebla and Uriarte is on the agenda. I actually purchased a dinner set for 12 at some point in the 80's and over the years bought various serving... More

We were trying to get some pieces to gift our families. They have a large store but not a lot of variety, mostly plates and kitchen items. Staff is also not the most helpful, they seem too busy with other stuff to help us find more pieces or answer our questions. Didn't make a great shopping experience

Classy showroom. I had a budget of $100 US and got a large platter ( big enough for a turkey) and a huge mug for my coffee and it came to $80. Had money left over for some mojitos! They wrapped it beautifully in thick bubble wrap.

This is our first time visiting Puebla. Gerardo was the best tour guide you could imagine. He customized our tour to our interests. It made us feel that the most important thing out of this trip was that we got a great experience from visiting this magical city. He is very knowledgeable in art, history as well as geography. We... I really wanted to purchase some Talavera while in Puebla as I've always loved it and read about Uriarte in my guidebook. The shop/workshop is gorgeous and filled with all sizes and types of pottery. I was disappointed that besides the security guard everyone stayed at their desk just watching me and never offered to help me or show me... More
