Charming old church in colonial city of Morelia. Build of pink sandstone typical of most colonial churches and old 16-17 century buildings in Morelia. Lovely tree-shaded park across the street, great for lunch or a drink. Fun to watch locals meet and greet there.

Although incomparable to the Sanctuary of Guadalupe, this is an unusually pretty church that is worth a pop in with the carved wood painted in gold leaf and the carved faces. Very pretty.

We were there for 4 days prior to the Pope arriving. We didn't think we would be able to get into the churches as security was already over the top. We did manage to see everything we wanted to. It was a very friendly city.
