The park is only a 10 minutes drive from downtown. It is very well maintained and has several interesting fauna. We recommend arriving early to avoid the heat, as around noon it became very warm. Excellent for families! Very well recommended.

We walked to the Park which took us an hour which was enjoyable on a cool morning.

We arrived at the Park just after opening hours and was very quiet with just a few families strolling around.

It is a beautiful treed park for walking and looking at all the animals. Many of the bigger animals had very nice large enclosures. All were well fed with fresh fruit and vegetables. The numerous staff were busy looking after everything. We thought that the animals looked very healthy

I thik that this is one of the nicest Zoos we have been to and so much nicer than the city zoos. It has a huge variety of animals of all description and always enjoy watching the primates.

We also enjoyed all the colourful collection of birds of which my husband took many photos.

Restrooms are also throughout the park at no cost.

We had an absolutely wonderful day at the Zoo! Recommend it to anyone, especially a great place for families with kids.

Ticket entrance is is fair. Since Morelia is still not very populous, you can walk around the zoo without feeling packed up or overcrowded. It has several food, beverages and snack stations. Most of the animals look comfortable but there are other that seem to be having a hard time in their small cages. The ride in the train is worthy as well as the entrance to the reptile area. Their lake and gardens offer a very beautiful and pleasant atmosphere.

If you have any compassion in your heart, this place must be truly avoided! The animals suffer terribly and it is infinitely sad to witness that.

The only polar bear in the horrible facility has been suffering for more than 25 years, confined in a grossly inadequate, outdated enclosure and locked away in a tiny off-exhibit area for the majority of each day. Finally she had a chance to move to a much more humane place, but the owner of the zoo abruptly broke the deal, obviously for greedy, selfish and inhumane reasons!

Is that the sort of place you want to support? Please consider that before you plan a "fun" day at the zoo...

Regular price 25 pesos but we paid 50 each for access to zoo plus three special areas. Better to pay the 25 and pay 10 peso entrance fee at each of 3 special areas. The park area is large and many of the animal appeared to be in pleasant enclosures, with grass, with space to move, etc. Other animals were alone (one of a kind, eg the white Rhino), or in enclosures with no green plants remaining. But the zoo does have a fine collection - large mammals from around the world, a good collection of primates etc. I would prefer if they had 1/4 as many species, each in cages 4 times as large... Still, it is a good zoo in terms of the variety of animals and the numbers of some species.

We spent the whole day here, the kids got to touch some of the baby animals. They took nice pictures and learn about them in the theater and also saw a lot of other animals... the enchanted cabin was very fun too. Your family can eat inside the zoo or you can also bring food from outside and save some money, or have more variety. The entrance fee is not too experience and you can choose if you want to include the special rides, such as the train (takes you around the pond and flamingos among other areas), the truck, (goes closer to more African style zoo area) and the house of snakes. You can buy this at entrance ar pay once you are inside. We have an excellent day here as family and i can recommend this place for every family. Animals are nothing out of the extraordinary, but this place guarantees a good day with the family.

A zoo. Has the usual animals and amenities, and you can get a riding tour on a vehicle. A zoo is a great place to tune up one's Spanish because the local children are excited and talkative. The zoo has a web site that publicizes various activities that are put on around the year.

We visit during the dry season and it showed. Everything looked like it does in the African savana before the rainy season, dusty and without much life. I imagine this zoo looks a lot better once it starts raining in Morelia. The animals though looked like they were all well cared for. Non of them looked like they were illed or not fed.
