Big Waves
Feb 2020
My accommodations, Holiday Inn Resort, was located along this beach. I walked the beach everyday while staying in San Jose del Cabo, as it is a nice beach without that many people around. There isn’t much swimming going on here, however there were a few brave locals surfing and some guests that were in knee to waist deep at times. I really enjoyed how large and loud the waves are, something that I still miss about this place.

Beautiful beach, strong waves and whale watching
Feb 2020
This is a beautiful beach. One thing we were surprised at was the strong waves we saw on a semi-regular basis. Some of the waves were over 10 feet tall. This is not a great place for family swimming but you can certainly enjoy the view.
There are vendors selling all sorts of hats, cover-ups, t-shirts and other souvenirs.
There were people selling horseback rides along the surf as well.
We saw several whales surfacing in the distance. Depending on when you come, the whales mate, feed and give birth in this region so you are likely to see some whales.

Paradise

Although swimming is very limited due to the strong undertow, our family enjoyed splashing in the water. There were often people in swimming beyond the first two crashing waves. We enjoyed walking on the hard packed sand and the kids played well in the soft sand. Bring a beach umbrella and enjoy.

Cannot swim
Dec 2019
I stayed in Decameron hotel and I could not swim, there were red flags that prevented people to get in, so it is only good to enjoy the view, and walk in the sand, nothing more.

Nice to walk on, terrible for swimming
Dec 2018 • Couples
Due to the undertow and the waves this beach is not safe for swimming. However it is lovely to walk on. The layres of mica in the water make look like there is sparkle dust in the waves and on the wet sand. Also it makes an ever changing pattern of lines on the sand from the mica being deposited at the crest of the wave. You can see both amazing sunrises over the Sea of Cortez and sunsets over the mountains.

A great morning walk for anyone
Nov 2018 • Family
This is a great beach to walk for pleasure or fitness. You can walk in either direction for a good distance. The walking is easier at lower tides but always doable. Not great for swimming as the surf is big and the risk of riptides. A beautiful beach to just sit and watch for whales or watch the sun go down.

Peaceful!
Nov 2018 • Couples
This beautiful, uncrowded beach is excellent for walking, sunbathing, and enjoying the clear view of the horizon. Very peaceful and uncrowded.

Long beach with black flags
Jun 2018 • Couples
So many hotels are facing this long beach but so few people were actually out on it. Pretty much none of this area is safe for swimming due to the strong undertows. When the tide was coming in the waves were huge and very loud crashing onto the sand. All along the beach, black flags were up the entire week we were there even at low tides.

The sand is hot in the sun, coarse for walking except by the water. But, even then we were told to take care in getting close to the water's edge when the tide was out. It's beautiful to look at and do some walking along side it.

Nice beaches to see
May 2018 • Couples
The look out to see the beaches is very accessable and the views of the beach and the board surfers is great. There are lots of rocks in the surfing area and I am sure that a lot of accidents occur here.
