We had a wonderful afternoon walking through the estuary in San Jose del Cabo. Don't let anyone tell you that there are not many birds to see because the place is alive with wildlife. We saw osprey, blue wing teals, cinnamon teals, coots, moorhens, lizards,...More

We were walking along the beach and then found this wonderful wetland area. There are a few tall bird blinds that give a good view into the wetland. We saw many species here--osprey and frigate birds were my favs, but there were several ducks and...More

Unfortunately, at 7am one morning, all we could see were pods of ducks and a few ahingas. Maybe another day it would have been better.

What a great place for birding or just walking in the peace and quiet. Not a manicured park but a little bit of nature close to the resort strip. During our week we must have visited in on at least four occasions. Well worth a...More

This was an unexpected surprise, to see this Bird Sanctuary. It was directly beside our hotel so it made for a nice walk, Large area of lush green plants and fresh water in the middle of a huge white sandy beach and next to the...More

Great bird watching area. I recommend that the Holiday Inn and the "over-seers" of the Estuary get toghter and repair the trail on the west sdie of the estuary. It was a great way to walk into town. Its been two years.

The estuary hasn't fully recovered from the hurricane in 2015 and some paths are still underwater, but this is still a wonderful place to go for a lovely walk, and, if you go in the early morning, you will see lots of wonderful birds. You...More

The entrance behind the Holiday Inn is closed and apparently has been for some time. The trail near the riding stable is not accessible because of the water level. You can see only a few birds from the remaining path.

What a wonderful, beautiful place. So looking forward to coming back and doing a longer hike in April. While the hurricane damage is somewhat evident it really doesn't diminish what you can see or where you can hike. A jewel not to be missed!

Depends on your definition of an easy walk. The estuary can be toured from the south-end Holiday Inn side or the north-end San Jose side, but the connection between these two ends is flooded, requiring a long detour between... More
