About
The organic market of San Jose del Cabo was born in 2002 as a space to support small local organic farmers. Later the conscious community is invited to share their talent through crafts, food, painting, photography, jewelry and other artistic expressions such as music. We have parking for motor vehicles although it is also recommended to make a walking tour from the historic center of San Jose to our market. Our visitors can expect a space recognized for being a place with soul and spirit that expresses the traditional and multicultural element of Los Cabos.

Took the walk from San Jose to the Mercado Organico, but were sorely disappointed. The land appears to be for sale. No one knew anything. There was a small representation of local vendors at the entrance of the road. They were nice, but this wasn’t what we have seen in the past or what we expected.

Having lived part-time in SJDC for the last 5 years the Organic Market has become one of my most prized days - I always look forward to Saturday mornings! It brings the 3 things l love about the Baja all together in one very festive and fun little nucleus. The food is, of course, organic and fresh. There's a combination of fruit & veggie stands, homemade take-home meals and sauces, kombucha, ice cream and the best place to get a 'taste of SJDC' all in one spot. I come for breakfast and stay through lunch :)
Next is the culture - the art scene is very important in SJDC. Jewelry is one-of-a-kind, amazing hand made clothes, hammocks, beauty products, artwork. And there's always music and other sorts of entertainment-- Jugglers, bouncy balls for the kids - something for everyone. I always go alone because I'm here by myself, but I never feel lonely. The reason is the 3rd - the people. I love these people! Happy, friendly and warm. This is a must-go! But there's a dirt road the last few hundred feet to the entrance, so be prepared. Enjoy!

The San Jose Mercado Organico is the weekly local organic market in Cabo to visit. It is run by a non profit organization looking to support local growers, food vendors and artisans. The space is green, park like and easy to get to. They have great live music and weekly events like yoga, kids corners and salsa classes which is usually free. Its a great place to pick up some gifts and grab a bite to eat while getting a feel for the local community life. A must do if you have some free time on a Saturday (November to May).

Located on a dirt road off the back road of Downtown San Jose. The first market you see is not the Organic Market, you cannot see the real Organic Market from the back road of San Jose. Once you turn off the back road, you immediately turn right and follow the dirt road about 1/2 mile to the Organic Market. Super friendly parking guys will guide you to your space, be sure to give these nice guys a tip.
You should allow at least an hour maybe an hour and half to be able to take everything in.
Be sure to bring small bills and coins with you. Vendors accept either Dollars or Pesos.
Lots of food options, mostly mexican but there is also some Vegan vendors, bread, cookies and tea vendors.
Fun local experience.

We took a 5min Uber ride from our hotel and I thought I entered the right address. There is a TINY regional market (seven stalls) right by the entrance to the dirt road leading to the Organic Market. That’s where the cab driver dropped us. Not knowing where we were, and it being too hot to walk down the dirt road, we completely missed this market. Bummer! I don’t know whether the cab drivers will bring you along the dirt road. But in the heat of the day, my kids and I didn’t get to find out.

We visited the Mercado Organico last week during our visit to San Jose del Cabo. It had a nice variety of vendors with different artwork, jewelry, homemade beauty or health products, and food and produce galore! There was also a group doing tai chi and live music! Very laid back and friendly setting. My group included myself, my husband, and his 3 kids, two of which are teenagers. Everyone found something they enjoyed. The only part that was difficult (with kids) was getting there. We were staying in the corridor area and took the public bus to the west side of downtown, so we had to walk a little ways to make it to the market. (Side note - if you are taking the bus from corridor or from south of downtown, get off at the Pemex station at Boulevard Centenario and walk down that road to find signs for market). Like I said, only a slight issue because walking with children. Otherwise, the Mercado Organico was a fun experience and definitely recommend checking it out!

The organic market is only open until the beginning of May!
Also, it's off of a long dirt road!
We got lost trying to find it when it was closed for the season! :)
There is however a great organic restaurant (and farm) down the same dirt road...so all was not lost! :)

We were told by the owner of the Las Cazuales Del Don restaurant that he also had a stall at this Saturday Organic market. Since we had enjoyed his food so much, we figured we'd go and try it at the market as well and buy some vegetables at the same time. We this went and were happily surprised : there was not just food but in fact, it was a complete fair out in a nice park area. There were paintings, arts and crafts of all kinds and with the wonderful weather this time of year, we ended up spending a couple of hours just trying everything out like fresh juices, ice cream and yes, Don's Cazuales tacos (chicken and cactus this time!)
Recommended for something different on Saturday mornings.

We arrived at the airport on a Saturday and went straight to the Organic Farmers Market. It was a great market with so many good drinks and food choices for lunch! We walked around, listening to the band and sampling the local food from many of the stalls. Everything was delicious but the guava aqua fresca was my favorite (btw, all of the ice is from purified water.)

You drive down a dirt road from San Jose and end up in this field where a bunch of mainly American "artists" are selling homemade jewelry, skirts, tamales, trash art and the like. The veggies looked good. It's a different world and for that alone I'm glad I went.
