Wonderful experience. The visit is organized in very high level with a nice surprises. Our guide Arevik is very professional. Her explanations of vineyards history were very interesting. Each person we met during the visit starting from guardian until the persons serving us the tasty wines have very warm attitude and were very attentive to us.
The time we spent was very pleasant and relaxing and we left the Karas wines with the wish to come back again in the future :)

It's a big industrial winery. It's impressive in its own way. They have done enormous work creating their vineyards and the winery. The family that owns Karas Winery is from Argentina. They make wines there too. It is definitely worth a visit, just to admire the determination of the people who created it.

Such a great experience we had at the karas winery. It is an hour drive from Yerevan center

First and foremost when you visit the winery, book a tour with Astghik. She is super accommodating, energetic and knows the history inside out. We loved our tour we did with her. She took us out in the vineyards and explained all the history.

Highly recommend the wine tasting with her.

Ever since we had Karas wine a few years ago, it had been my husband's wish to visit the winery. We heard that finally Karas was offering guided tours. We booked a tour in early June for our group, including Italian and Japanese guests.
We were greeted by Astghik who took us around the vineyard and the winery. She was wonderful! She explained how the local indigenous vines were grown, irrigated and harvested. And how they were processed and kept in barrels for ageing. Her knowledge of the wines and wine making was very impressive.
The winery itself was huge, spotless and built with the latest technology. A lot of people from the surrounding areas worked there. They were given jobs, healthcare and education. What a wonderful project!
We ended up tasting the red, white, rose' and sparkling wines. Truly World class wines that can easily compete with well known names around the world.
Thank you Astghik for the memorable day at Karas. We will definitely come back and visit Karas again.
And finally, Genats! to Mr Ernekian who gave Karas to Armenia, and Armenian wine to the World.

As part of my visit to Armenia today had a tour at Karas winery. It was an unforgettable experience as our tour started with very pleasant and smiling Guide Astghig who received us at the entrance and joined the whole tour.
We started by driving in vineyards, seeing all the types of wines, the irrigation methods, the history of the land all the way to today’s 400 hectares with 30 types of grapes. The drive lead us to outstanding view point of theArart valey which is breathtaking.
We could see the hundreds of villagers from all around the land who work there to reduce abt 2million bottles a year ... going up!
Then we toured the factory and were very impressed by the modern technologies and the spotless production lines from receiving the grapes all the way to the labeling and packaging. Of course the jewel of the crown was the wine tasting we got to test 5 wines mix of sparkling, white and red wines,
The tasting was interactive with us getting a lot of learning as well as giving our inputs to the wines appearance, smell, palate, aftertaste and our own overall grading.

During all this we were guided by our marvelous Guide Astghig, her passion, high motivation and love to the wines shined all through the tour,
It was outstanding to hear hear explicitly explain every detail with so much pride. There was no rush and all the tour was very pleasant and funny at points!. With all this we really did not want to leave, but we did with some special bottles of Karas wine, their 2014 reserve red wind and the 2013 Gran Karas, We will surely come back next year for the upcoming new Syrah!

Don’t miss to visit Karas winery and make sure you meet Astghig!

We had a good opportunity to take this tour on a very short trip! Astghik was our tour guide and she described the vineyards history and story which was interesting and informative. Unfortunately due to the season we were unable to see the vineyards in full bloom but the vast expanse was a sight to see! The wines are absolutely divine we bought almost the entire collection they had!

My friend and I went to a visit on a Saturday. The visit was very professional, we got to understand the history of Karas wines and the wine making process. We also explored some of the vineyards, it was an extraordinary day, ending with an amazing tasting of some of Armenians best wine. Would highly recommend the tour!!!
