We had an amazing day doing the Ultimate Adventure with Bren. Real mix of activities to keep it interesting and all in a beautiful location. He's full of interesting facts and stories too, so you can get a bit of a history tour too. I would highly recommend this activity!!

One of our biggest highlights from our trip to the beautiful Inisowen peninsula this week was the Malin Head Star Wars tour with the amazing Bren! Our kids are 12, 10 and 6 and he made the tour relevant to us all, from basking shark stories to showing us an Ewok lookalike - he even got a moody , tired little 6 year old into it with Star Wars light sabre action😆
This guys style is so easy and friendly and he really knows his stuff - fascinating to listen to while keeping it so interesting.
The time flew by and the kids loved the Jedi cape dress up with light sabres on the walk - class ! Memories made .
Book this !! You’ll never get a better opportunity to learn so much about this incredible part of Ireland with an decent sound tour guide !

I have been lucky to attend a number of training courses organised and faciltated by Bren, including Mountain Skills, Leave no Trace and Lowland Leaders.
He is extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled. Brens technical ability is underlined by many years of practical experience, yet he is able to meet course participants wherever they are up to (even at beginner level) and clearly explain fundamentals with great patience and engagments.
Donegal Climbing will always be my first port of call for future training needs.
Excellent!

WOW we so totally loved the Star Wars tour with Bren. He is such a cool, kind and knowledgeable guy! The tour was so diverse, with a bit of history, legends, and star wars anecdotes which made it so special. We drove this far up North specifically to do this tour, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip.
The scenery is truly breathtaking, and Bren adds so much flavour and meaning into wandering around. I can only recommend that you do this tour if you have the chance.

Without a doubt the very best part of our trip to Ireland was our hiking tour of Malin Head with Bren. My husband, kids (10 &12) and my mom all enjoyed learning the history of the area and the geology so many facts mixed with a bit of forklore from the region and seeing the beautiful area at Ireland’s most northernly point. He is a fantastic guide. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to book a tour with Donegal Climbing and I would love to book again next time and check out another place with him as a guide on my next visit. To say we were impressed would be an understatement!! Thank you so much Bren, it was wonderful to meet you and you really made our trip by guiding us through the most beautiful part of Ireland. Many thanks till next time! Slainte!!!

We went rock climbing at Malin Head...the whole family of 4 of us. We were given lots of relevant and interesting information about the area and the actual climbing experience was perfect for all of our mixed levels.

Bren is an amazing guide and tour leader! We came for his firsthand experience of the Malin Head filming sites for Star Wars: The Last Jedi - he delivered awesomely on that but also so much more!
Walking along the cliffs of Malin Head, Bren shared his knowledge of the area's connection to local history, from ancient times through WWII. He also gave us a great primer on local geology (key for a rock climbing expert!) as well as wildlife: from peat moss to basking sharks. Our tour culminated with an astounding gorgeous view from Prockaugh.
Bren then took us on a special tour of the Malin Head Star Wars filming sites, with permission of the landowners. Since he worked on the set during filming handling actor safety, he knew all of the shots filmed in the area and took us to each place, sharing his experiences with the film production.
Bren has a friendly welcoming style and really knows his stuff while keeping it interesting. Not only does he know the Malin Head area - he knows the people who live there.
I recommend him as a guide wholeheartedly, whether it be for just hiking or checking out Star Wars film sites or rock climbing.

My husband and I are Star Wars fans and when I read about this tour, I knew we had to go. When we met Bren, we thought it was just going to be about Star Wars and the filming of it, but it was so much more than that. Malin Head is so full of history and Bren was knowledgeable of all of it. My husband and I could've spent the whole day there learning everything from Bren, especially the parts on WWII (husband is a history buff). Of course the icing on the cake was seeing where part of Star Wars was filmed and hearing the behind the scene stories. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone!!

My 12 yo daughter and 5? self were part of a group who headed out with Bren yesterday evening for a walking tour of Malin Head. It was windy and wet at times but that didn't spoil what was an interesting and entertaining evening - really enjoyed it and well worth a visit if you are this way!!

If you are in Ireland and are looking for a cool outing that combines breath-taking scenery with a little movie-making magic, then head out to Malin Head with Donegal Climbing. Brendan Whelan is a lovely tour guide that will give you some fun behind-the-scenes info on the making of The Last Jedi. Our small group ranged in age from 10-78, and we all could manage it fine. A must-do for any Star Wars fan.
