My girlfriend and I rode horses at Rancho Xotolar. It was the best experience we've had in our four visits to San Miguel! When we arrived, we saw Gustavo milking the cows which would later be used to make the cheese that would be served with lunch. Then we started riding through the stunningly gorgeous landscape of their ranch. We... More

We had a great day riding in a beautiful and very interesting landscape. The guides are a lot of fun and make sure that everyone is comfortable and happy. The lunch was equally good, all traditional Mexican food. All of us, two adults and two children aged 11 and 13, had a great time, we have horses at home so... More

Tomas and his family are genuine, kind, and hospitable. We had a beautiful and safe half day ride with a delicious ranch lunch. All of the guides make sure to explain safety and went above and beyond to find my lost sunglasses in the river! I recommend this tour to anyone--well worth the price.

Amazing family experience for us. The ride was exciting and the views breathtaking. The Xotolar family took excellent care of us and we loved learning about their ranch and way of life. Thank you for this wonderful day we will never forget!

if you are looking for an adventure, contact Ranchi Xotolar! We did the 1/2 day horse back riding tour through the canyons and it was breathtaking. The ranch is family owned and run. The horses were well behaved and there were plenty of guides to help us along on the tour safely. Another highlight was eating a delicious fresh lunch... More

Tomas and his family go out of their way to have an authentic tour of their father's Rancho purchased in the 1940's. From how they live, make fresh cheese, to dividing the chores, before you even get on the horses you have a good idea of the ranch history as well as the compatability of the family members. The ride... More

What a wonderful day to spend a day in the country outside of San Miguel de Allende! The family who runs Rancho Xotolar was so friendly and provided a marvelous experience for my family. The whole family was friendly and welcoming of our group, giving us a tour of the ranch, showing us the process they use to make cheese... More

This is not for the faint of heart! This is the Real deal. We rode down and then up the mountain. The guides were on top of things and knew what they were doing. This shows you part of Mexico you'll never see. The family who runs this were kind and thoughtful. I must warn anyone who has a fear... More

Family owned ranch with spectacular horse excursions. Incredible views of the presa and ranch. Experience real camp food handmade on the ranch - delicious! Great for families - children must be big enough to ride a horse - though the cowboys keep a great eye on them!

We're so pleased we booked this trail ride experience. The countryside is dramatic and the ride goes down into a deep canyon. But even as an inexperienced rider I felt completely safe the entire time. Great staff and gentle horses. This family/community does everything in traditional style do you get a real taste of Mexican life. (We literally milked the... More
