Ruben was a great class leader - he really knows his stuff. A wonderful, relaxed, informative class. The kitchen was great, Ruben and his staff were polite and helpful. I will definitely attend more classes. There are a number of cooking schools/classes in San Miguel that are charging outrageous prices. This is not one of them. I highly recommend this... More

Ramon was excellent! We made rice, fish, and dessert. It is too difficult to explain exactly what we made, but we all helped. However, I must say the holiday punch, made of hibiscus, fruit and sugar (served warm) may have been my favorite. We were given the recipes to duplicate at home and learned some techniques (burning the outside of... More

How anyone could give this cooking class anything less than 5 stars is beyond me. The chef, Ruben, and his assistant Pilar were great. Contrary to what one reviewer wrote, this is definitely a hands on class. We were all very involved in the preparation in each course. Before we started the actual preparation of our meal, we were taken... More

From Ricardo, the concierge to Chef Ruben, to his assistant Pilar, everything about these classes are just great. Went for 1 and ended up taking FOUR classes. They're very willing to work with you on recipes you would like to learn, very friendly, informative and hands on, not to forget, food is delishhhh! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

I booked a cooking class for Thanksgiving day. I hadn't done a lot of research but read a couple trip advisor reviews and selected Sazon. We got there on time paid our $35.00 pp and was escorted with a small group ( all Americans) around the corner to an absolutely charming kitchen space in a beautiful courtyard. Chef Reuben was... My 3 girlfriends and I recently took a Mexican Specialties cooking class here and it was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed chef Reuben's instruction and loved the ambiance of the classroom. Extremely professional and well organized. We will do it again when in San Miguel!

The only reason I am giving this two stars is because the food was pretty good and the Chef and his assistant were kind and genial enough to applaud their effort. Other than a recipe sheet and knowledge of a few new ingredients we didn't learn anything. I haven't tried any of the other cooking schools in San Miguel de... More

Several of my friends attended Sazon on different days and all of us foodies concluded that the experience was great and the cost was well worthwhile. The day we chose had the class going to the mercado to buy what we were going to cook, then we (only takes 12) came back to very nice, clean kitchen to prepare our... More

What a great way to spend time in San Miguel! As this was a the off season, we were fortunate to have a private lesson with Juan, our chef, and Pilar, his assistant. We strolled to the local marketplace where Juan introduced us to the unique flavors of Mexico. We tasted exotic fruits and local candies and tamales, meeting fascinating... More
