Didn't expect to enjoy a toy museum as much as I did. It is NOT just a museum. It is fun compilation of usable toys and art. The artists are imaginative and the rooms are set up in a well organized manner.

This museum is sooooooooo amazing! I completely loved it, I wanted to play with every toy there. There are dolls from all over mexico, little tiny toys made with gourds or ceramic or wood. What I loved most (that is very typical of Mexican Culture) is the colors of the toys, the humor, the skeletons and the devils seem so cute and friendly.
You are going to find diversity and creativity not only in the toys shape, but in the materials they are made of.

Wonderful museum for all ages displaying the history of handmade toys, would only be better if there were reproductions of some of the toys the kids could play with.

Lovely little gift shop where our 5 year old chose to spend her savings on toys to bring home.

Marvelous museum for all ages. Terrific gift shop for any occasion gift or a memory from Mexico! Special and permanent displays highlight the history and handmade craft toys. Wonderful place for a hot or rainy afternoon. Small entry fee supports the museum. Convenient location, friendly staff, beautiful views from roof!

This is one of my favorite places that I visited in San Miguel de Allende. We passed it by chance, and it was incredible. All of the toys are hand made, and displayed in rooms based on use or material they are made from. The detail in these toys is unbelievable, whether made from ceramic, wood, paper mache or woven. Some of the toys were donated, some are from the original sponsor of the museum and others are the winners of competitions sponsored by the museum. Don't miss it.

I found this museum absolutely delightful! So glad I popped in. Not only are the exhibits interesting and intriguing, it was fun to wander through the rooms of what what was once a home all the way to the charming roof deck.

La Esquina, Museo de Juguete Popular Mexicano, is hands down the best museum in San Miguel. The building sits on the corner of Murillo and San Francisco, which accounts for its name. It had three floors, with rooms clustered around a central courtyard, and a rooftop deck from which the views are quite spectacular. The museum showcases the incredible talents of Mexican artisans when applied to making toys to amuse their children. The designs of individual pieces are well beyond clever and the execution demonstrates a craftsmanship worthy of the finest museum collections. Items range from baked clay figures, painted and unpainted, woven vehicle replicas, some with woven human figures, and cloth effigies of humans and supernatural beings. This place is quite magical. A must see!

Such an unexpected delight! The entrance gives no clue of what lies within. Four floors of surprising and entertaining toys made of wood, bamboo, clay, paper, etc, many beautifully crafted.

All the color and wonder ofMexico is captured in these toys.

We have been surprised by the diversity of the toys exposed. It covers may traditions, regions, arts and all with a lot of colors and some great awarded pieces from national contests.
