There was a lot of interesting Mexican history in this house, definitely worth visiting. However, the lighting is poor and made reading some of the exhibit boards a bit difficult. Admission is free on Sunday, we learned.

The Allende house gives a good view of what life was like for this historic family. Rooms are staged to look like they did at the time he grew up there. It is very accessible close to the center of the old town.

The de Allende house is an impressive structure. It is tastefully stocked with historical displays of family and area history. There are enough English translations on the information placards to keep one engage even if you don't read Spanish.
