These bunkers are very well preserved and will give you a great feeling of how they must have been during the war. It's a very good idea to turn each bunker into a mini-museum covering a particular aspect of the war, or the specific history...More

Drove by it on the way from quistreham, we decided to have a look and came by a complete restored battery, it tells the story of an almost failed raid. Very well restored, good story, friendly staff.

Unexpectedly good! We thought we had visited previously but had Merville confused with another site. Very well kept by dedicated volunteers, the historical artefacts are well displayed and the staff are friendly. For me the centrepiece was the Dakota aircraft. Repatriated from Eastern Europe, it...More

This helps inform us of what our parent/grandparents had to face and should be visited: it's living real education and very recent history confirming there is no GLORY in war though sometimes it's the only was.

Given this site was so important in relation to the D Day landings, as a museum it falls far short of expectations. A large number of the display boards are in French only, the displays are reminiscent of a bad version of Madame Tussauds from...More

This is a great attraction. Fair price for admission. Excellent history explained brilliantly. Very moving. Total must for the invasion beaches.

Well worth a visit, good parking very interesting and easy to walk around the site, also you can go into some of the bunkers, also a film show in one of them.

The first visit, we drove over to see this and just looked over the fence, because we were to tired. Only on our second trip did we go in, and we were so surprised at the quality of the museum! There are 11 sites (bunkers)...More

Like the title says what our fantastic British soldiers did here in 1944 is staggering and just to visit the place shows how unbelievable it was. The place is huge and full of history and an absolute must for WW2 enthusiasts.

It was very interesting with many pieces of memorabilia. The sight and sound bunker I found harrowing and very emotional. The noise alone was a shock. The letters written by young men to their mothers were sad, particularly when it was pointed out they never...More
