Visited here in July after visiting near by Pégasus bridge, so glad we did! It is worth every single penny! Definitely would recommend and we will certainly be coming back next year to visit it again with our wider family.
The bunkers have so much on show compared to others in the area. Absolutely loved the sound and light show.

An excellent pace to visit, Merville had to be taken before to protect the troops landing on Sword Beach and was captured by a heroic action.
The whole site is very interesting and well worth a visit.
The Museum is easy to find and there is plenty of parking.

So much more than I was expecting! To be walking around a mostly intact battle site where soldiers laid beneath the earth was incredibly humbling. The interpretation was brilliantly done. Thank you for telling the story of both sides so well.

Absolutely incredible experience. Had the "pleasure" to visit this place in June and remembering the fact that in 1944 a lot of people gave their life to free Europe gave me additional chills when visiting this place. Everything is very well maintained and one can learn a lot about D-Day and the horrible experiences people had. Absolute must do of this place is go to the "son-et-lumiere". It gives you an inkling of what it was like when this batterie was stormed. I know it cannot compare to the real horror, but they really try.

A most humbling experience, the bravery of these young men and what they endured is incredible. This is a must for anyone interested in WW2 history in particular that of the Paratroop regiment. Good static display without sensationalizing it. The remembrance garden is quite poignant. The C47 is worth a look in the hanger

The site is extremely well maintained with excellent facilities.
We attended almost as an "add on" to our planned D Day visits and were glad we did.
The gun emplacements have been converted into individual museums and you are guided between them by a pathway that meanders around the site.
It was a brilliantly sunny day when we went so stopping for 10 minutes and taking a seat was no hardship, it may be different if it is raining.
A lot. of the exhibits are multi media, and there are QR codes that can be read by smartphone as you go round.
Sound is a big part of the experience and creates some of the atmosphere.
There is a pristine DC3 (Dakota) for aero enthusiasts, and pieces of military hardware are dotted around the site.
Ample free parking is available and if the weather is good, I would plan to spend up to 3 hours at the site (take a picnic)

An excellent if not heartbreaking look at the ravages of only one small part of the second world war. Made very real by the fact it is located on the actual site of a pivotal landing site of the allies during the liberation. Beautiful example of a Dakota plane before walking the rest of the site and some excellent displays including uniforms and letters written by the soldiers themselves who clearly had no idea of their probable fate. Light and sound show in the final casement shows how terrifying the whole experience was for such young people and how wrong war just is.

This German gun battery was vital for the Germans to hold on to and not let it fall into the British hands. This was a scene of a terrific gun fight and eventually was overrun by the British with several lives being lost. It was captured not once but twice as the Germans managed to regain control of the sight. There is a Douglas Dakota parked up and we were able to go inside. One of the staff explained to our group that it could carry either men or machinery or a mixture. It also towed the gliders to land extra troops and equipment. There is a enactment in one of the bunkers and it really worth staying there for. It relives the moment the site was attacked by the British troops. The noise is tremendous and when the gun fires it really is like being there in the war. The whole place vibrates including the floor. The site has lots of bunkers and involves a fair amount of walking but there is a pathway for people with mobility scooters. Another museum worth visiting.
