We went there off-season. By some miracle we only met one small car which came the opposite way. By stating that the road is terrible one is not saying enough. We decided to go, because there are often complaints about roads being terrible in Lefkada if they have some potholes or you have to go slow next to each other, which we don't mind, whatever.
Here, it is NOT the quality of the road! Not even that you are not able to drive there if you are a beginner or whatever. Altough it can get tricky because of the hairpin turn and the steepness. At the olive groove part at times the narrow road is quite higher up from the ground, so don't you mess up and get a wheel off the road! -it would suck. This is not a problem if it's just you or others all going the same way. But if there is another car heading the opposite way, then you are F****d. Someone will have to go backwards and it's long. You won't fit next to each other because of how the road is.
Then on the way down: There are nets for catching the falling rocks. Said rocks are there in the nets dangling above the road and they are big. Oh well, the net is there at least. What is worse: The road is not that wide and is REALLY steep. Two cars can fit, but there are 180 degree bends which are very steep and the vegetation is so thick that you have absolutely NO WAY TO SEE if there is any other car coming from the opposite direction or not. No mirrors like at some other places. In case someone is not very careful you can easily crash into each other. Unfortunately we meet far too many tourists driving in the middle in their huge cars everywhere and here it was a terrifying thought. At places there isn't even a railing but this low concrete edging built right at the edge of the road. Not even the usual little space with vegetation and then the railing. Nope, so it's narrower because of this. You have to manage on the narrow road, in the narrow hairpin turn, not seeing down or up because of the bushes, hoping that noone else will come dangling to your side just a bit.
It's not that you won't be able to go down or come up, it's that you don't know who you will meet on the way.
The next was a huge shock to me after I was happy that we didn't meet anyone... so once you get there you will see that there are things down, which got down there and will eventually come back up! A huge and battered truck, camper trailers, vans, people with caravans, big SUVs.. I was like omfg I don't want to meet any of these on THAT road!
The beach itself was nice, it's huge and wild, it reminded me of an ocean shore, but still you can buy food/drink/ice cream at a reasonable price (especially considering getting stuff there to sell...) I didn't mind the big rocks in the water, but I see how they are annoying and ankle twisting. So I'd love the beach anytime. But I NEVER want to go down there again especially since I saw what kind of vehicles can suddenly pop up in a steep hairpin turn heading the opposite way. No thank you!

If you seek adventure when travelling then this is the place to go to.
The street leading to this beautiful beach is kinda wow. Hope your car has got good brakes!
Once you are there plenty of free parking spots are waiting for you and two or even more bars/eateries.
There you can also purchase sunbeds under an umbrella. Costs? 15 EUR for two sunbeds. You can also apy by card.
Now the downside: the beach is as many beaches quite stoney. There are a lot of pebbles BUT there are also in the water and they quite big and slippery too. Even people who wore those beach shoes had trouble to get in and out. Don't ask us as we didn't even have these shoes. We rather looked like stranded whales I am afraid. Anyway, the beach is beautiful and not crowded.

Very nice beach, not crowded. You can have a feeling you are there alone. In the sea, there are a lot of very big Stones, so be careful and shoes to the sea are definitely recommended. 🙂

Beach was great for families with young kids. Easy to get to by bus from old town and not overly windy. However be careful with the restaurant that offers free sun beds. Don’t order anything without seeing a menu and prices first. That place (ECLIPSE) offering free sun beds as long as you buy drinks WILL SCAM YOU. They are not transparent… find a different spot and you will love your experience.

Nailbiting drive to get to it but as we had kids, this was our only local alternative to the steep hike to get to Port Egremni. Free parking and great friendly staff in the Medusa bar. Only 2 chemical toilets for the whole beach - the kind of place where people nip off to the bushes which isn't our kind of thing...

Nice beach but there are far nicer beaches close by. Driving down this beach was a nightmare. Very thin, a lot of twists and sharp turns. Parking at the bottom was good though.
Good restraunt to eat at. Great service. To use the only WC on the beach you have to be a customer. Regular cheap beds for rent for 10 Euro.
Beautiful water. The water is water then the other beaches we went to in Lefkada.
Not overly busy

Very remote (it takes quite a few U- turned curves to get there), but amazing views and perfect to relax, since it is not crowded even during peak season (if you bring your own shade, you can move even further and you can maybe bring an extra drink and snack and stay longer … the colours are as divine as seen on many photos (no filter needed 😀😉)

This was our nearest beach on our holiday and the one we favoured out of three stunners. All have access issues but this is the most natural. No car park as such. Just stop offon the rough road along with a few camper vans and walk. Lush water eith some bid boulders underfoot once in. A few days it had quite big waves. Plenty of space.

Is this beach open yet? I mean the road to this beach?

Hi. The road to the beach was open in September 2018. It was not in very good conditions, but practicable with any type of car. If you are using navigation, be careful not to select the unpaved roads option on Google Maps.
