We emailed about Dec 9 with no response and decided to check it out anyway during a visit to Sian Ka'an. (we missed the November review unfortunately) Temporary barricades are up with signs reading "closed for maintenance". We asked locally and were told it was recently purchased with no known date for re-opening. The rating is only there because we... More

Left emails twice no response we went there a few years ago great kayak trip in the reserve sustainable dinner after 360 degree views a really great time. Sian kaan seems neglected There now seems to be competing commercial tour services we did not get the Eco friendly vibe. What we did was rent bikes rode down about five or... More

Fernando was our guide and he was extremely informative. The area is beautiful and the float down the river is peaceful. I would love to go back and take another tour from them. We saw a number of birds and a few crocodiles in addition to the abundant plant life. Fernando pointed out everything and was able to answer all... More

We toured Sian Ka'an Biosphere motoring across the lagoon and through the canals. A stunningly beautiful place. Our guide, Fernando, is very knowledgeable and showed us different mangroves, birds, and even a crocodile. After the tour, we enjoyed lunch on the deck of the main building overlooking the ocean. The beach is also beautiful and deserted. We swam and enjoyed... More

We have a great lagoon tour of the reserve, and would suggest one for anyone who really wants to get out in nature and experience the real beauty of the area. It was great zipping around on the little motor boat, spotting crocs and birds, and floating down the stream in our life jackets was soooo relaxing. The meal at... More

We did this tour because it was windy which meant the sea was rough and we couldn't go snorkeling with the sea turtles. Instead we saw manatee's! We had a great time and learnt so much on our trip through the lagoon and the mangroves. The water in the lagoon was not so clear as usual due to the weather... More

Though our foolish hotel, Be Tulum, booked the wrong tour (canal instead of birding) we had a great adventure with Fernando, our guide, through the beautiful mangrove swamps of Sian Ka'an … Not much wildlife, but beautiful plants and a sweet jaunt floating down the freshwater portion back to the boat after a short walk.

This was a fantastic way to spend a day. First off, our guide Jorge was amazing. He was knowledgeable, helpful, authentic and gentle - we all loved him and enjoyed our time with him. The boat ride was fun, we learned about the wildlife and different ecosystems in close proximity, and floating down the canal was outstanding.

This tour takes place inside the protected area of the Biosphere. Our experienced and very well informed guide, Jorge, together with the boat captain Cosme, took us through the lagoon Into the mangroves and upstream into a sweet water river that feeds the lagoon. On the way back we were able to float down with the current to the place... More

A beautiful experience on the lagoon and the canals. the boat capatain was brave and amazing as he whipped through the narrow canals of mangroves and hairpin turns. Floating down the river was very cool and a great way to chill out. we contemplated taking our own car and meeting the tour at the starting point inside the park so... More
