Batey is a new mojito bar in Tulum. We serve the best mojitos made with freshly crushed sugar cane juice out of a converted VW Beetle! There's live music most days of the week, a great atmosphere and the best service.

Incredible freshly made cocktails. Came here on a trusted local recommendation and it exceeded expectations. Drinks are made with freshly crushed sugar cane and super fresh produce. Highly recommend the mojitos and caipirinhas. Super relaxing and laid back atmosphere and they have a variety of live music in the evenings.

The toilets don't flush. You can't wash your hands because there's no water. They have an old guy pouring water from a bucket into the toilets regularly, because the toilets don't work. But surprise: he runs out of water. So no more flushing. And no more washing of hands after your toilet visit. The employees use the toilets. Then they... More

Simply amazing artists and bands, who would have thought you could see people from all over the world playing great music in a tiny mojito bar in Mexico! The variety of the performers, the unique styles, and the atmosphere are second to none in Tulum. The mojitos....so good, around 10 to choose from. All made fresh to order with sugar... More

If you want to find a spot to sit and watch the band get here early! Drinks are a bit more pricey then the surrounding bars but it's worth it for the music. This is the main hot spot for tourists and locals. Once the bar closes are 2 there is a drum circle outside which is definitely worth it... More

I guess the word is out that there is an amazing music scene in Tulum. For many years musicians have come from all over the world and congregated in Tulum. There are many fusion bands mixing latin routes with world flavours. There are a few clubs where the music is not a background but the main feature. Batey is the... More

This is the place to be in the city of Tulum! Very cool vibe. Fresh sugar cane bring processed for delicious drinks, especially the mojitos. Lots of cool local art and great music. We wish we would have found this joint on the first night instead of our last. Didn't get to try the food though it looked awesome. Get... More

Me and my 2 friends went there to spend a part of our night. We really enjoyed it. First, mojitos there are really perfect (we tried the Azteca and the Maracuya). You can have one for 100 pesos and even choose your rum. Second, we also took a guacamole and it was so perfect as well. Music was cool, so... More

We stumbled upon Batey in the Pueblo. You can't miss it's iconic VW Bug retrofitted to be a sugarcane press. They have open mic nights and honestly on weekends it's normally a block party going on outside. The owner is an Italian expatriate with a beard who is a wonderful host. He makes his mojitos from fresh sugarcane juice that's... More

We came here a few times. I love that they offer virgin versions of all the mojitos. Excellent wine list, fantastic cocktails.
