This guy is legit! We were welcomed into the store. The sales person did not try to high pressure sell us. I could not find what I was looking for so he said they could make what I wanted in two hours, which they did! I LOVE IT! I had a ring my mother had given me, she died a... More

Busy street with shops and restaurants that goes on and on forever. We started at the Ferry Terminal and walked and walked and still did not reach the ends of it. Most aggressive vendors near the ferry terminal but not really too bad for people trying to sell you something. Lots of boutique stores of all price ranges with set... More

My title is just many of the lines you'll hear walking down this street. While this annoys most people I eat it up and have fun with the guys. If you get uneasy with people trying to call you in a million directions this might not be the place for you. If you can ignore it then you'll be just... More

This place is not really a cultural experience, it is a very long street with many many shops bars and restaurants on it. I found a lot of the shops were very expensive, and I could buy similar goods at vastly cheaper prices either at our hotel in puerto aventuras, or at the markets at the tourist attractions such as... If you like rows and rows of schlocky stores hawking the same insipid stuff, if you like being accosted by shopkeeper after shopkeeper as you pass by, if you like mediocre food, if you like crowds of grazing consumers fresh off a cruise ship, if you like witnessing the evidence of a charming little fishing village transformed into a tawdry... Since we had been to Cozumel on a previous cruise, this time we took the ferry to Playa del Carmen and strolled 5th Avenue and had time on the beach. 5th Avenue is a pedestrian street so its much easier to navigate than Cozumel with its tiny sidewalk and buzzing taxis. The street has a lot of charm and good... More

Discovered 5th Avenue by accident walking on the beach to see the ferries on my first trip to Plays del Carmen so I came in at night. Music, security and people made me feel safe despite so much going on. I returned the next day to shop. Totally different place. Every stall had something different and unique for souvenirs. Much... Went shopping on a Friday at 4pm. We were instantly pulled into shops were the shop owners tried to get us to buy things. As it got dark the people became more shady. Prostitutes were walking the area and drugs were offered to both my husband and 13 year old son. The high pressure sales tactics, along with the salespeople... More
