We visited here on our honeymoon. You could spend hours and hours just wandering up and down! There are all sorts of shops from high end to tacky souvenier shops! Lovely array of bars, restaurants and spas. Really a great place to spend some time.

On February 19, 2017, my husband purchased a 24" chain that this merchant represented was 14k gold. The clasp was even stamped 14k. Purchase price was based on weight, and came to 34,797 pesos (approx. $1,700 USD). The people in the store had been very friendly, and we felt good about the purchase. About 3 weeks later, after we had... More

walking 5th avenue was an experience. Yes, everyone is trying to sell something and everyone wants you in their store/restaurant. But, everyone we met was nice and was eager to give us advice on getting around town or choosing events. It is terribly commercialized with lots of american stores sprinkled in with the local businesses but we enjoyed it all... More

We had round trip taxi service from our resort. After reading other reviews I was glad we didn’t have a resort wrist band. They still got us! Our taxi driver got out with us and was talking to a few of the street vendors. Within a block we were grabbed a couple times with ‘Hey, don’t you recognize me –... More

If you want to experience Mexico, don't go here. It has lost itself from a wonderful enchanting town to that of a tourist trap, catered to wanna-be-drunk-in-foreign-country tourists. The locals know it too, and they try to hustle you for your money. Not all of them, but the pattern is there. Especially if you wear a bracelet from a resort.... More

Good Fun, Good Food, Great People watching! We always enjoy 5th avenue. It's more commercial and more expensive than anywhere else but definitely worth the experience.

There are a lot of interesting shops at Fifth Avenue. However, if you have a hotel bracelet or any other indicator that you are staying at a particular hotel, hide it!! People will walk over to you and claim they work at the hotel, and that you talked to them. And then they try to lead you into their shop... More
