Definitely Fun... But there's a lot of panhandling!

This is a really fun place to visit, eat, party & to shop. It's a fun area & there's some neat architecture & authentic items. But OMG be prepared to be solicited like crazy... read more

- There are 45 blocks of shops and restaurants. A hagglers dream. - You have to be comfortable with large crowds and every shop calling out to you for your business. Literally. Every single one. It's non stop. Just keep walking. - Be aware of people coming up to you to shake your hand and say "Hey, I know you!... More

Walking into town and being overwhelmed by the different stores and all of the people demanding you to come into their store can be stressful. So as we are walking down the street and hear "excuse, I'm from your hotel the Paradisus". So when you hear a comforting voice coming you feel you are saved from all of this chaos.... More

If you enjoy turning people down, shop this street. (Of course, I am not a big shopper and was traveling with a handicapped sister using an electric scooter.) Nearly every shop tender will call out to you and sometimes insult you as you pass them by. We did not find any bargains on this street. There were a few interesting... More

This is a really fun place to visit, eat, party & to shop. It's a fun area & there's some neat architecture & authentic items. But OMG be prepared to be solicited like crazy!! And PS, the fees to use the ATMs are around $10 USD

This long street is great from beginning to end and any time of day. It transitions from shopping to hopping nightlife. Filled with street vendors and everything from tourist shops to Victoria secret and MAc. There are mac Donald's and Starbucks as well as local cafes. You can find almost anything you want here. Including excursions and haggling is a... More

Loved 5th Ave. So bright and colourful!! Lots of shops and food!!! Very clean. Friendly people. Be prepared to be told people know you lol. They memorize the resort bracelets and pretend they work there and know you. Very safe and great prices. Starbucks has wifi lol. And high end stores are quite nice.

Not too impressed with this "attraction". Vendors constantly hassled us to go into their shops, very aggressive. Overall, fairly dirty as well.

We came here off our resort for an evening, it was about a 20 minute cab ride and definitely worth it. There are tons of shops and restaurants lining both sides of the street, it's quite long so plan to spend at least a few hours here. We had a great little dinner at one of the restaurants on the... 5th st comes alive mainly at night!! If you like knick knacks or even big store shopping, 5th st has it all. Lots of people from all over the world. 2 and a half blocks from the Caribbean sea makes for a very great place to let loose!!!!! The big bummer is all the hounding you get from the little... More

Interesting discounts offered all over, good trade marks, quality stuff considering local prices but a little bit deceived as most of the shops accept credit cards and Mexican peso but not US currency
