For some reason I thought Playa would be less touristy than Cancun when I planned our getaway and skirted us down here immediately after arriving. 5th Avenida is convenient- we were able to walk 10 blocks along here from the bus terminal to our AirBnB...More

It’s such an authentic Mexican experience! I could do without all the high pressure sales techniques but it’s just so funny it makes me chuckle. The shops are good, lots of choices. They will all bargain with you if you try, or they will take...More

Wife and I went to 5th Ave. Nice economical shopping and great places for lunch. I highly recommend for pleasant afternoon of shopping if in the area.

While it’s fun to walk along this shopping district it’s not so fun to be harassed by the street vendors. They can be downright rude. Put in earphones and wear sunglasses. You can find some good stuff (Cuban cigars and tequilas of all types).

If you are looking for name brand recognizable stores, this is great place to shop! For myself I would have preferred something more authentic to Mexico. The vendors are very aggressive and hound you on all streets which gets annoying. You’ll find Krispy Kreme, Old...More

We love Playa, but 5th Ave. has just gotten way to touristy for us.
