I went on a weekday with my mom and aunt. It was a brilliant sunny day. Our guide (whose name I never caught, regrettably) was so funny and amazing. He did the tour in three languages (English, French, Spanish). Four if you count all the Mayan he taught us. The house and grounds were beautiful, and seeing the machines work... More

Our tour of Hacienda Sotuta de Peon was an interesting look at part of Mexiico's past as we saw the production of the hemp in its various stages and a look at the home of the hacienda owners. There was also time to swim in a denote and have a Yucatan lunch

Very well manicured grounds. Orginal Hacieda and factory from the glory days of the "Green Gold" or "Henequen" (also known as Sisal). Accurate story about the everyday life of the Mayan workers, their struggles and the splendor of that era.

We chose to go on this tour based upon the #1 rating on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. I cannot over emphasize how great this tour was. Our tour had people who spoke, Spanish, English and French. Our tour guide translated everything into all three languages, it was really amazing. The facilities were very clean and the tour... More

This Hacienda Tour was amazing! I booked the combo tour with transportation and lunch directly with them via email, they arranged for pick up at my local Starbucks. I chose the combo package with lunch which was very good for the price. It was really a full day experience. The staff and tour guides are all Merida natives so they... More

This tour was both entertaining and insightful. You get an idea of the life at the haciend both from the master's point of view and the workers point of view.

It is a must to learn about sisal production when visiting the Yucatan. This is a great experience where you can really understand this past industry which was one of the biggest money makers for the area and left gorgeous haciendas behind which are now mostly high end hotels and worth staying in for the experience . At the end... More

Hacienda de Sotuta was exactly the kind of experience you should have on your visit to Merida. Their website is easy to use to make your own reservation. Our pick up point was a scarce half block from our hotel. The driver, Mr. Domingo was prompt and informative as we picked up a few others. Upon our arrival we were... More

The tour (in both Engl and Esp) is not long and is interesting. They discuss the history of the haciendas and why the value of the fiber dropped such that the industry lost importance. The cenote onsite is a nice one, and a perfect cool-off. The onsite restaurant is quite good, far better than most restaurants at places like this.... More

It was really nice to go to a place where they make henequen. And the censored was great. The only problem is that it is not cheap. $430 per person for less than 3 hours of tour
