There is no shortage of shopping or food along El Centro. Vendors line the streets and have everything you could possibly want or need. There are many restaurants, some with seating right on the beach. You can get more authentic local food here than you...More

I really like that El Centro is filled with shops and restaurants. The square was decorated with a 30-foot plus Christmas tree, manger scene, and lighted trees. I wish trash cans would be placed around downtown.

This place makes me smile. "Everything is $ 1.00 US" was common to hear as you walked the streets. There are many small items to help you remember your visit. We love the blankets and hoodies that are unique to Mexico. We ended up buying...More

Compared to other ferry dock locations that I've been to this one was the most crowded with the highest prices and the least willingness to negotiate. We did find some great tacos for a reasonable price though :)

I love walking around the town. I saw a lot of new murals, and details I really enjoyed.I think change is good when it's for the better of the community.

Wandering around El Centro of Isla Mujeres is definitely interesting. There are tons of souvenier shops selling the same stuff. But, it's a very colourful part of the island. The buildings are cool with that island feel, the people were friendly and not too pushy...More

Lots of little souvenir shops and they do try to entice you to buy but all friendly and a simple no thank you works. If you need pop or chips an oxo convenience store with good prices. A grocery store across from the church.

My husband and I along with another couple came to the island for a day. Downtown was very busy, but quickly found a golf cart rental. We weren’t totally comfortable with leaving a drivers license, but sure understand they need assurance that they will get...More

Get pesos, you will save significantly. Also refrain from using credit cards, I had two different cards compromised while on Isla this last November.

Yes lots. It's really grown in the last 5 years so you will be in for a shock how much it has grown. Both good and bad. Probably over 50 restaurants/ vendors on el Centro. There is a small shack on the corner that says... More
