This is a modern shopping area in the tourist area of San Miguel de Cozumel, where all the cruise ships dock. My wife and I felt very safe while shopping in this plaza, which was modern and included many upscale retailers (Cartier, Hublot, Lacoste, Breitling, Swarovsky, etc.). While prices are somewhat negotiable, so expect great deals here ... for that... More

Loved watching the kids reactions to the dancing fountains (think small scale Bellagio) with bright lights and music. Looked to be a splash pad, but too cool to romp in the water that night.

Classic Mexican Square, some fun restaurants and shops around. Nice lighting at night, and usually music on Sunday Nights

Plaza del Sol is surrounded by shops and restaurants, which tend to be a bit pricier than those farther from the city's heart. But with its breezy ocean views, a fine gazebo and watchtower, it's well worth spending some time right here .As evening nears, locals coming out to the plaza to mix and mingle, this is the spot for... On the hour, there is a very nice light show with the fountain. Lots of local families hang out, especially on weekends. The plaza was newly remodeled a year or so ago and is more open and contemporary than the original, but still very nice. It's clean and very visitor friendly, even after dark.

We came here to do a little shopping in the morning before the other cruise ships came in. It was the right choice. We found many good deals and agreed on many good prices. We bought NFL panchos, leather Beer holders, and even a few knock off MK and Coach purses and backpacks. They were extremely good quality for being... More

In the past few years the plaza has been made more user friendly and has improved landscaping. The spray fountain is a must stop for kids to play in on a hot day. Evenings now feature a light and sound show at the fountain.

We explored the town center of San Miguel during our time in port. We found it to be very picturesque, clean and safe. There are lots of restaurants, shops and senic areas. We visited the Catholic Church is the area and loved it. There are beautiful mureals and statutes throughout the town square providing lots of picture moments. It's a... More

Had dinner here twice this trip. One day we were fortunate enough to catch this group of younger men doing dance/athletic/gym moves. They were powerful and we were captivated by there talent and energy. We tipped generously but it would be nice if some program could be set up with groups like this so they become a regular feature here.

In the Plaza, there are fountains during the day and in the evening the fountains are lit with music in the background. We love to walk over to the Plaza after dinner and sit and watch the show. During the days, children play in the fountains( ground level) which is an entertaining sight.
