A small series of exhibits show Cozumel's history from prehistory, through Mayan habitation and into the colonization by the a Spanish invaders of this once peaceful island. Several stone artifacts and a recreation of a Mayan village are the main attractions.

This museum provided an interesting history of the island and its local culture. The tour is given in Spanish or English, while the tour guides are will informed and talkative. It has a replica of a Mayan hut you can walk in.
