So much to see and do here!

The ruins at Chichen Itza are so many and so interesting! What an awesome trip. I only wished I'd get to visit, and we're going back for a second trip this year!

You'll find this place sooner or later while wandering around Chichen Itza. There are a lot of impressive sculptures still intact around the edges.

Even for the games our arenas of today does not have a VIP lounge of this stature. Amazing to see what was built and to hear how it is believed to have functioned.

I noticed that the animal head projections emanating from the corners of this temple are now cordoned off. This is probably a good thing, in order to preserve this fine structure. This was so cool to see. The place where they had sacred games where the losing captain was sacrificed to the gods. Reminded me of basketball with the hoops and the rubber ball.

The Red House is a terrific edifice located in the Old Chichen sector right across the Observatory plaza. Adjacent to its east side is a small pelota court which suggests that the building was used as a ritual site.

That was a cool trip, a part of a Chichen Itza tour. I got a little bit tired on that part, too long under sun, but still it was an excellent day!
