Wow, be prepared to negotiate if you hope to get a good deal. First offers from most vendors were 2-3 times what we actually ended up paying for things. I was expecting to negotiate down 20-30% not 70-80%. We found much better deals later on at Chichen-Itza but supposedly those vendors are there illegally if that sort of thing bothers... More

This is very old, over a hundred vendors, but they attack you to go to there stores so watch out. Lot of junk, but if you go through right, can find decent jewelry and Mexican made products.

If you walk down about 4 more blocks passing this place you will find the real authentic Mercado 28 with actual bargain prices!!!! You will find authentic hand made pieces for dirt cheap !!! Do not let them scam you, they pay the bus drivers to drop tourists off there because they can trick them to spend all that money.... More

We decided to go to this Mercado 28 one morning. the local bus will take you their for 10 pesos. Many of the vendors have the same items and they try to get you to stop at their space. After an hour, we made our purchase and decided to leave. If you have free time and don't mind a lot... More

I think this market is worth visiting if you have a rental car,or do not mind paying for a taxi. Depending on the location of your hotel, taking the public bus may not be the best option unless you have plenty of time to kill and do not mind carrying shopping bags. The market does have a very good choice... More

My girlfriend and I spent a few hours in Mercado 28, got some good deals, spent a lot of time saying 'No, Gracias'. Very few shops are worth paying full price in. I only found one shop where their starting price was the same as one that I negotiated down to in a different shop. Their starting prices are very... More

Visited the Mercado while visiting Cancun w friends, lots and lots of shopping!! We are at one of the restaurants and the food was so good!!! Sadly it was the only authentic food we had in Cancun :( seems like resorts think they need to serve everything but Mexican. We also met some gentleman playing music with guitars $4 per... More

Took the local bus and we didn't expect the long walk past alot of vendors to get there. The actual shopping area was very congested and so many pushy vendors we didn't stay long. While there my husband needed a restroom and we were surprised that you needed to pay to use it. For the very brave or maybe hard... More

We were warned ahead of time that this market is very touristy. It is difficult to find anything actually made in Mexico which is sad. However, I did buy a Mexican dress, handmade handbag, and something for our godchildren. I wouldn't recommend unless you don't mind people saying ridiculous things to you to get your attention. If you do go,... More

Great place to go and get gifts to take home for everyone. If you like to barter, this is the place. They have a little bit of everything.
