Not really restful as every merchant is agressively looking for customers. Yet, colorful and nice mix of stores and restaurants, mostly geared to tourists.

Same stuff all over with the same prices. The #2 bus will take you 3 blocks away and let you off at their bus stop right in front of Plaza 28. This is a ploy to make you think your at Market 28. Then the...More

If you're looking for some souvenirs, this is probably the best place; there are many shops, so good bargaining can save you money. But most of the stuff isn't really handcart. The restaurants in the center offer good Mexican food for cheap. Just in front...More

My wife and I went to this market on our last day in Cancun. Yes, the merchants are a bit aggressive, but keep in mind that they are just trying to make a living. That said, if you show them a little respect they will...More

This was a close walk from our resort and I was looking for a few inexpensive trinkets to take back from our vacation in Cancun. Lots of booths selling the same or similar stuff. Jewelry, t-shirts, handbags etc. I hated the way most vendors aggressively...More

This is a big market, and a bit of a maze (my boyfriend and I joked we'd never find our way out). Lots of the same trinkets from shop to shop, with the occasional unique/artisinal finds. If you are uncomfortable with vendors trying to get...More

Important Note: The busses (and many taxis) do not take you to the actual market. They drop you off on a corner in front of a shop with a big Cancun sign for taking pictures and a name that says something about Mercado 28 but...More

Took the bus to Mercado 28. Bus ride was fine, but the market is awful! Merchants are constantly accosting you and items for sale are all mass produced items you could buy in the lobby of your hotel or even on the beach without having...More

We chose not to walk when the bus is only 10.5 pesos. Taxis cost too much by comparison. We only used taxis after dark.
