We stumbled on this place by accident one rainy day when we had to change our plans, it really was a lovely surprise! It is really easy to find, cheap to enter and children are free. We walked all around the ruins (which has English translation) which is under tree cover so perfect in the rain which everyone found interesting... More

When you think Archaeology Museums in Mexico, the ones in Mexico City ane Xalapa are incomparable. But the little publicized facility in Cancum is a worthy kid sister. Housed in a beautiful structure, as much sculpture as architecture, the Museo Maya is a concentrated assortment of artifacts (tools, utensils, pottery and crafts), statues and structural pieces that are cleverly presented... Terrific little museum right among all the hotels. Wonderful modern architecture and a very good selection of artifacts. Walking through the garden with its ruins (small but really interesting) is peaceful and a great learning experience. Inside the museum not all of the exhibits have a full explanation in English but there are plenty of bilingual boards. Super value for... More

This museum should be better promoted as a must see in Cancun. The architecture alone makes it a worthwhile visit but it also does a world class job of presenting the Mayan history with artefacts and written descriptions in both English and Spanish. As well, the outdoor exhibits of ruins is wonderful. It is beautifully tended - a lovely walk... More

We visited Chichen Itza, which is fascinating in terms of the size of its temples, and complexity of their carvings, but which left me wanting to know a lot more about the context in which the complex was built, and what life was like for those who lived and worked there when it was a living society. This museum, very... More

The building is worth the visit alone as are the colourful sculptures in the garden. Inside the artifacts of Mayan art and pottery are nicely displayed with some English translations on the large panels. Do make sure you go outside past the garden area and walk the gravel path to see actual Mayan ruins.

This museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits. Walking around the outdoor exhibits gives you a view of ruins from the past. Inside are great Mayan artifacts.

Majority of the exhibit is outside. There were not a lot of exhibits to look at. I enjoyed the beautiful trees.

This is a small and simple art museum of Mayan culture. It took us less than an hour to see everything.
