While not a a world class museum, this museum should be a must see for anyone on their first trip to Veracruz. The ground floor has several galleries that chronicle the nearly 500 year history of Veracruz. The exhibits provide useful information, but are a...More

Greatly enjoyed my visit to the museum in the company of guide Enrique Sanchez. Next visit to Veracruz I will try to repeat the experience to absorb more. Don't know if I can convince you but the history of Veracruz is enormously important not only...More

This is a small museum with a few English signs. But the most amazing thing about it is the building itself and you don't need a translation. There is a gorgeous domed ceiling with a mosaic of the sun. The marbled stairs are stunning, though...More

Luckly for me, I was staying at Hotel Meson del Mar. The museum is barely a block away. I took the complete tour with a friend who does vacation tours. We ended up at the main office, spending nearly an hour talking about Veracruz with...More

Covers the history of the city. Some exhibits are explained in French and English but many are only in Spanish. The enthusiasm of the guide compensates for my poor Spanish skills.

A great history of the area! With films, models, even archaological finds. Very thorough, and very regional. A very friendly guide gave a free tour. Stop in here first thing, it's a great intro. The best site in town.
