Maneuvering around this very dense, congested mountain town is arduous and confusing, at best but can you--follow the signage and you'll eventually get to the cathedral. Parking is equally difficult but totally possible, often with the help of a local who is likely endorsing a friend's parking lot. A hike, generally uphill, to the cathedral and the plaza is not... Walking through this town is a walk through old Mexico. The buildings are colonial and the streets were designed for horses not cars. This is the town of silver so stop in and perhaps you will purchase some 925 Sterling. Go to the Zocola and enjoy the sights. Visit the Cathedral next to the Zocola. It is well worth the... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip! It is by far a town that like many others preserves their culture and historical buildings. Just beautiful! Plenty to observe, eat, drink and just take in.

It is a beautiful place where you can stroll, people watch. There are restaurants and silver shops, places to buy your Taxco souvenirs and of course the Cathedral. If tired sit on the bench and try to take it all in. Lovely heart of the city.

My father like to came to this beautiful and colorful town, where the Spanish architecture is everywhere you look... the people from this city is really polite and grateful. You can find unique and different dishes, from green with chicharron pozole to fresh Jumiles (comestibles insects). You looking for souvenirs???... don't worry, you'll find silver 9.25 everywhere!!!

This plaza or zócalo is a definite must on your visit to Taxco. The zocalo, although small, has an energy about it that's worth a visit. Enjoy sitting on a bench under the trees and people watch. When you're tired, take in one of the many restaurants and enjoy a meal or drink while overlooking this heart of the city.... More

While it is a bit small and overcrowded, the city center of Taxco is still magnificently beautiful. Full of other tourists, a beautiful church, plenty of Silver shops, restaurants, and street vendors, the hustle and bustle of Taxco is put on full display here. Both the Federal Police and the Military Police patrol the Zocalo of Taxco so feel confident... More

I visited Taxco y a long weekend holiday we had in Mexico with my wife. Our expectations of the city were surpassed and I really recommend coming here. Taxco is renowned for being a mining city and the best place to buy silver jewelry and items. The zocalo is a great place to start. You can visit the Cathedral, Shop... More
