We had visited the Jade Museum, and that ticket covered the Kakaw Museum. There were interesting displays on how cacao had been used as money in history, display of currency from several countries. It was worth reading all the posters about types of cacao and...More

My husband and I got to toast, peel and then grind cacao seeds to make our own chocolate bars and chocolate to drink. So much fun and you really learn how elaborate it is to make authentic chocolate. Can't beat it for $12 US!

Browsed the chocolatebar and picked a handful of varieties. First bite was rather tasteless and the chocolate was dry and fell apart, inside was lots of mold. Spit it out and finished my cold chocolate drink which wasn't very good either and left.

Same as the Museo del Jade .. it is average and is more of a sales pitch ... than a museum. It is kind of interesting and offers an explanation on the process of making and producing cacao. But in the end I felt that...More
