Incredible cooking class, location & Chef Susana Trilling is an amazing instructor as are her assistants. Every minute was so fun & informative and the kitchen is the happiest & most colourful place to learn in. If you can get into the market tour & class do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed! She offers many interesting classes which... More

This past weds my son and I took Susana Trilling's cooking class. It was a full day of culinary delight from the market to the cooking school. Her style and staff are wonderful and accomadating. The menu was superb starting with the Panuchos filled will vegis and chicken, the squash blossom garlic soup, beet with oranges and goats cheese salad... More

Oaxacan cuisine has become the best-known of the Mexican regional cuisines in the United States, and this is a great opportunity to learn about them from one of the great Oaxacan chefs. Susana Trilling has traveled into all the distant corners of the state to bring back the best of recipes which have been handed down and elaborated upon through... More

Susana Trilling is spectacular. Not only is she a published cookbook author and host of her own TV show on Public Television, she also is an accomplished teacher and host. My husband and I took one of her one-day classes when we visited Oaxaca in December. We had a wonderful time, and were deeply moved by Susana's commitment to preserving... More

I took 4 cooking classes while in Oaxaca and this was by far the worst. A quick note though is that Susana was out of town so did not run the class. I would check ahead of time to make sure she is there. Without her the class was not at all what was advertised. First off their was zero... More

This was our second day-long cooking class in Oaxaca, and though the two were very different, I recommend both highly. This was a professional operation with an incredible head chef and an army of assistants to make it all work. We enjoyed the market tour at Etla, guided by Yolanda, an extremely knowledgeable chef, who kept a short leash on... More

This is a waste of time if you want to learn Oaxacan cooking. Our class had 19 people and 1 instructor. We went to the market and it was a mostly wasted experience because most of us couldn't get close enough to the instructor to hear in the crowded market. The school was divided into groups to make various dishes... More

This is a really well-structured experience. First a visit to Etla market to see and understand the food we would be cooking with, and to sample many of the foods available, with excellent guides to explain it to us in a cool and logical order. The explanation of the many chillis, and their uses in the different moles and sauces,... More

We did the full day class starting with a trip to a market where Emily, Yolanda and Jesse explained many Mexican specialities and let us taste the local cheeses, tamales, breads, drinks etc. it was a wonderful experience though hot at times. The lunch in the market was sit down (a little squishy). It was light but not overly memorable... More
