Luis knows and loves the area he comes from and it is obvious in his tours. It is particularly nice to have a private tour because you can choose how long you wish to stay at each venue. Luis was well informed, courteous and has a fine grasp of the history and culture of the area.

Luis was referred to us by our B & B in Oaxaca. The day he took us to Hierve el Agua, Mitla, a textile workshop, and the amazing 2,000 year old tree of Tula was one that my husband and I will remember for years to come. We were grateful to be introduced to such extraordinary experiences by such a... More

We spent most of a day with Luis for his Mitla Route private tour. He picked us in our hotel on time and his car is clean and relatively new. Luis is a good guide in that he was informative but not over talkative. All in all, we enjoyed our day with him..

Luis was our private guide for two separate day long outings (Monte Alban and Mitla). During both days, he constantly impressed us with his historical knowledge, always delivered with a personal experience or two (making the information all that more interesting). I felt comfortable asking all kinds of random questions about the culture or what vegetable or beverage I was... More

Luis took my daughter and I to Monte Alban, Teotitlan and El Tule. He was punctual, polite and knowledgable. His understanding of Monte Alban was impressive and we really liked his stories about the area from his perspective as someone who grew up in Oaxaca with Monte Alban as part of his childhood experience.

I recently toured the Oaxaca area with Luis Ramirez. As a woman traveling alone, I am very careful about whom I hire for private tours. I look for someone reputable, knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. I read the reviews carefully. Luis was all of these. He was every bit the gentleman, polite and accommodating to my wishes. He was... More

Luis Ramirez was our guide during our trip to Oaxaca in December 2016. Luis is very knowledgeable about the area and the trips he took us on were very interesting. Luis is very accommodating and his car was very comfortable for the 4 of us. We highly recommend him!

Our group of 5 traveled in style, visited the black pottery studio and gallery, the extremely large (and crowded) Friday Market in Ocotlan followed by a wonderful meal at Azucena. Luis knows the area, speaks English and is thoughtful and friendly. I would recommend him for a Oaxaca tour. We left at 9AM and returned about 4:30 PM. The trip... More

Luis took us on two trips - to Mitla and points in between, as well as to San Martin Tilcajete to hunt for wood carvings he also took us and our friends to the airport. I highly recommend his services. He knows the area well and is connected with local artisans. Let him know what you're interested in and he... More
