Always a nice shady place to sit and rest, with various events for both children and adults often on view. Even at it's quietest the park provides an oasis of green and is a good place to people watch.

I love this place. It's a nice spot to sit on a bench and read a book, to people watch or get some exercise. This is one of the few places I have found so far in the city where it feels appropriate to run or otherwise exercise in public. They also have a great market there every Friday. Definitely... More

This used to be the city zoo many years ago, after that, a park that has undergone some renovations but allways seems to be needing more. It's a nice place for a walk or a jog. On Fridays you can buy fruits, vegetables and some excellent tacos at the "mercadito". You can also get your shoes shined and watch the... More

Parque El Llano is always buzzing with activity. Whether you are out for an evening stroll with family, or taking outside Zumba classes on Sunday morning, this park is always hosting art, music, food and mescal festivals. I planned my nightly power walks through this park so that I wouldn't miss a thing. Even when nothing special is happening, the... More

Parque Llano (for short) is a great place to spot quite a variety of birds in the city. It also has a thriving Friday market, and is a pleasant place to sit in the shade to read or people watch. It is a block from the Oaxaca Lending Library.

We love Oaxaca. But after awhile, it is nice to find the spaces with trees, and where children can run. The Llano park is a fun option, and in the evenings there are bouncy houses, trampolines, art projects and battery operated cars that parents can rent to keep the kids entertained. You can also run in the Llano if you... More

I great place to walk around with friends, pick up some fried bananas and if you are lucky to be there during the right time of the year, delicious tacos!

El Llano was near our hotel, and so I walked it most mornings before breakfast. I liked it because I felt I had a chance to be part of the neighborhood and to watch it wake up. I took three turns around the park--about 30 minutes--and was joined by walkers (with and without dogs), joggers, cyclists, and wheelchairs. I watched... More

The park is a pleasant place and worth a visit at any rate. By luck I stumbled across the park on Friday when they have a market in the park. A few of the stands sold relatively cheap books written in Spanish. As a general rule books are one of the few every day items that are cheaper in the... More

Great park to sit and people watch. On Friday there is a market that sells anything imaginable. On Sunday there is a free Zumba class which is fun. During Semana Santa (Easter) there is a smaller market with plenty of food stands. It is always an interesting place to go to.
